Description: PIQNIQ: for your breakfast, lunch & high tea in the Jordaan area in Amsterdam PIQNIQ as in picnic? Yes, something like that. PIQNIQ is derived from the French word for picnic; pique a nique. Pique means 'choose or pick something' while nique stands for 'a litlle something' means. So PIQNIQ refers to a variety of small dishes of which you can choose from, just like a picnic in the country. At PIQNIQ you are invited to choose from our variety of small sweet & savory dishes and enjoying them in our nice natural restaurant in a typical golden age Amsterdam surrounding while looking at the life on the street, reading a newspaper/magazine/book or take pleasure in a conversation with your table companion(s).At PIQNIQ we serve breakfast, lunch, coffee and tea with sweet bites, fresh juices, smoothies, a quality glass of wine and cold beers. You can also order for a special treat at the office or to take with you to the park or on your boat tour. Take a look at our website for the different possibilities and the menu. We are open daily from 09.00 am. till 05:30 pm.

Nice breakfast selection, friendly staff. I had a coffee, quark with granola and a boiled egg for about 6 euro - it was cheap and tasted well. Great atmosphere! There was a cat in the restaurant which was kind of a minus... but over all - my friends and I enjoyed our breakfast there!

Food was quite fresh and tasty. You can order multiple smaller dishes to get a good variety. Nice service as well - both of the girls spoke English.

My daughter and I went to Piqniq after research on trip adviser for different places to eat in Amsterdam and as I have now been diagnosed with coeliac and need to eat gluten free food this sounded perfect! And it was! The young lady who served us was very pleasant and helpful. The food is fresh, tasty and homemade and... More

They had to explain the menu to us. Basically everything they make is small. BUT for about 7€ you get two choices plus a cold drink! and for 9€ you get three. We got orange juice, fresh squeezed. We got three choices each. Included in the choices are soups, salmon bagels, toasted focaccia sandwiches and quiches. All of our small... More

I found Amsterdam generally very accommodating of those of us needing gluten-free diets for medical reasons, however this little restaurant is a gem. Our waitress spoke good english and completely understood my needs. There is basically a choice of 'small' (two items) or 'medium' (three items) which gives a great opportunity to try some different options. It was truly a... More

This restaurant is located in a quieter neighborhood. There are other cafés around but I picked this place because of the great reviews. There were two employees working at the time. There were 7 occupied tables including myself. I had to wait at least 10 mins to get the menu. I understand that they are busy, but at least greet... More

Besides serving an excellent lunch- the concept of two or three small, but perfectly satisfying, portions at a fixed price is a great one in my opinion- this restaurant serves some truly amazing gluten free sandwiches and tarts. The prices are more than reasonable and the location charming. It is definitely a place to return to.

Awesome place to enjoy a nice fresh cooked breakfast or lunch. I went with the italian sandwich, club sandwich, and esparagus soup. It didn't disappoint. The portions are a bit small, but perfectly fine for an early or late lunch. Wait staff was extremely helpful and I will gladly come back

It was for lunch and my friend and I decided to sit at the table outside. At outside table, each chair came with a nice blanket so we used it and it was really nice! (it was a kind of chilly afternoon in mid June). We had 2 item + drink lunch from the menu. The waitress told us that... More

Great finding. Can't think of anything not to like about this place. Great food and fresh drinks for a small price. Easy to walk here after waiting an hour to get into Anne Frank house ;)
