Delicious grub, great atmosphere

We dropped by on a wet Sunday when we weren't interested in looking around. But we made a great choice. We had two burgers (Steven's of course) and an omelette and the food was delicious. Two cold beers helped wash it down. Staff were friendly, service was great and the place has a great vibe. Visited cafe Stevens for lunch on 2 occasions. Lunchtime staff very friendly and place had a good atmosphere. We both had a salad which was very nice, good portion and at a good price. The following time we shared soup and a sandwich. Soup was fine but the sandwich was average and looked like it had been thrown together. I... More

There are several restaurants / cafes to pick from in the Nieuwmarkt area and we are happy we picked this one. The menu is written on a chalkboard in dutch but they will translate for you. The food is made from local ingredients and you can tell. I loved every bite. Since we were only there 2 days, we did... More

Super location on Nieuwmarkt Square. Very often busy at lunchtime, and a favourite with local Amsterdammers. Always seems to be packed and have a great buzz in the evening. Wonderful service from very friendly and attentive staff, and a fine selection of great value lunchtime food. The Cafe Stevens sandwich is one of the best sandwiches in Amsterdam!

An unassuming look to this corner cafe but step inside and it is a comfortable, friendly place with a great atmosphere. The selection of beer is very good, service is excellent and the food is tasty. Non-smoking venue makes it very pleasant. One of my favourites in Amsterdam.

This bar is amazing. The bartender was so friendly and even gave us free beer to try. We tried the bitterballen snacks and they were so tasty and good. The location is stellar and it was nice to sit back and relax inside with the windows open.

We were showing a friend around Amsterdam, and ended up in this cafe for a welcome sit down, it being a favourite haunt of my partner for many years. Being unable to decide which beers to try, they were both offered good sized tasters of no less than five separate ones ....something all done with a smile and good advice... More

Fine brown cafe in Amsterdam. We were here for a sandwich and a drink. It was good. The place is nice with low light and music pictures on the walls. Afterwards we went to the flower market outside.

So glad we found this bar. We were strolling around and this bar looked nice from the outside. Inside it is great, U can tell how long the bar has been there and can easily picture it back in the 40's 50's 60's The staff are really nice and polite, the drinks were nice and priced just the same as...
