Great classic restaurant. Great food, beautiful presentation and superb taste. We came for lunch and it was a treat. Service very attentive but a little bit stiff however it fits the restaurant.Restaurant is small and well decorated in a classic style.Very beautiful view. Price for lunch menu very reasonable. Before the lunch menu started 3 amuses were served. Wonderful. Accompanying... More

It's three weeks since we celebrated my 65th with a superb lunch at Bord'Eau. Despite the time lapse, the experience was utterly memorable for all the right reasons, most notably the cooking. Were we to write this review three years down the line, it would still be so! We chose the five course lunch which escalated to eight with an... More

The food was excellent and we enjoyed the view. The food is delicious, but the price is too high. It makes it a business restaurant more than leisure.

Visited this ‘whisper restaurant’ a few days ago. First impression was a very stylish but stiff environment, a restaurant where you can’t talk or laugh to loud as the other guest will look down on you. Food was well prepared, but very heavy. Price of the food is correct, prices of wine on the other had is excessive overrated.

I was in Amsterdam recently and went with some friends to dinner at this prestigious restaurant. We were greeted warmly and shown to our table which during the summer would have outstanding views over the water which surrounds the hotel on two sides in which the restaurant is situated. We sat down at the table and were given menus and... More

Dear SeamusOL3, Thank you so much for your review and constructive feedback. I am glad to hear that you enjoyed the food and hospitality at Bord'Eau. Part of the concept of Bord'Eau is indeed to serve a series of amuses prior to starting with the actual courses. It is our way of building up the experience and expectation. Nonetheless, we... More

We're holding a two-star Michelin restaurant to a higher standard, and when you pay these prices (300+ for lunch for two), that's probably the right way to go. The service was very good, at the same standard as similar restaurants we've been to. the space is not very interesting, unfortunately, with a bit of an eye-glazing design. The wine was... More

Top-rate chef who creates lovely dishes. Is really passionate for new creations and loves to help out amateur-chefs also. Beautiful tables at the waterside makes for a lively atmosphere.

Bord'eau is one of my favourite places in Amsterdam for special occasions or to taste some really excellent food. I'm a local and it is easy to find (even Michelin star) restaurants that are overpriced, serve poor food or have rude and arrogant staff. Bord'eau is one of the rare exceptions. Dishes are thought out creatively and prepared with passion.... More

We booked this "gourmet dining room" through our hotel and arrived to a warm welcome in a sumptuous room looking forward to a special evening. The bubble did not take long to burst -- our issue with this place is the horrible staff: condescending, insulting and rude - especially the head waiter. Examples: looking in vain for a simple salad... More
