We had a two course fixed price menu, which had two sets of starters to choose from! (You could have a three course meal with both sets of starters, which is a really great idea.) My mozzarella and tomato salad contained both hot and cold elements - unusual and delicious. Loved the combination of aubergine curry and rosemary potatoes in... More

Thank you for your good review. Indeed, we like to serve the unusual combination, showing the different good food combination. The sprankling combination of warm and cold temperature, crunchy and smooth, sweet and spicy. So many unusuals to eat :-) Thank you again, Max More

Visiting Max restaurant in Amsterdam was one of the highlights of our trip and could have easily gone there the second night to taste the other courses. As we entered the restaurant we were greeted by a very good waiter that showed us to the table upstairs. The service was personal, unrushed and timely. The food was amazing, best duck... More

We were welcomed by the most charming host who went out of his way to make us feel welcome and to explain all about the food and what was on offer. He allowed my husband to sample a couple of red wines before selecting which he wished to purchase a glass of. We had the Indonesian special menu which was... More

Coming in from the wet and windy night, we found a friendly setting and absolutely divine Indonesian food. We chose the tasting menu and at €35 it was delicious and excellent value. Highly recommended but make a reservation!! Place is packed.

All around excellent--food, service, value, atmosphere, location. Definitely one to go to, and we would definitely make it one of our choices if only in Amsterdam for 2-3 evenings.

We booked this restaurant before we came based on TA reviews, and so glad we did! Not only did we need to have a booking to get in but the meal was fabulous! We had the Indonesian tasting 3 course meal, and it was all delicious. The salad, seabass, seven samples and dessert were all so flavoursome. The restaurant has... More

Booked this before going and just as well as the restaurant was packed. A bit noisy at times but the food was fantastic and the service first-class. We ate from the international menu which gave 2 starters and a main course for 35 euros per head. Wine was a bit more expensive but the Italian red was very nice. Rounded... More

Our favourite meal in Amsterdam. The fish dish wrapped in banana leaf is possibly the best fish dish I have ever eaten. Definitely reserve a table and enjoy fantastic food.
