When you're done with all the touristy noise in centrum. This is a nice restaurant on the edge of Jordan. Was nice to watch the never ending flow of cyclist on their way home while enjoying a not fancy but very pleasant meal. The servers where quite nice and heroes us to feel at home.

I was just wandering alone around Amsterdam looking for a place to eat. The place looked warm and friendly, so I stopped in. I'm glad I did. Very nice, comfortable food. A great end to a busy travel day.

The food was to die for, the service was great, it was great value for the quality of what we ate! I would heartily recommend the pork loin and I think my wife would travel back to Amsterdam just for the ribs! One of those places that you find by chance and want to go back again and again.

Two of us were wondering around trying to find something different to eat we were about to give up when we found this place, the woman serving us was very friendly & helpful. I had the bacon & mustard soup, it was heavenly (I need that recipe!) even my partner liked it & he hates mustard!! The atmosphere & decor... More

They have the typical kind of dutch brasserie food like liver with onions . You can also go in for just a drink. It good be very crowdy at times so if you want a table it is better to make a reservation .

You won't go hungry, not by a long shot. Had dinner here with extended family. Reservations are required for dinner, especially on weekends, but it is totally worth the effort. Everything on the menu is great - believe me, we tried almost everything - and the portions will satiate even the hungriest person. The warm "brown" pub atmosphere is extremely... More

Wandering through Amsterdam, getting further away from our hotel and about to give up on finding a meal, we gave this one a shot. It's not always easy to find somewhere nice to eat in Amsterdam, we were looking for something local and not trashy. This place is a bit of a walk from the main tourist areas, but was... More

Ate here yesterday evening. Could not have chosen a better place to eat. We were just walking along, no real plans and saw this place, quite busy inside, so a good sign. Excellent food, service, ambience. Very friendly. Calves liver to die for. Apple Cake utterly fantastic. Try it. It is about 5 minutes walk from Central Station.

I have coming to this restaurant/bar for years. http://www.dutchamsterdam.nl/147-amsterdams-brown-cafes. Set in the artists area of the Jordaan ( Haarlemmerdijk). not too far fron Central Station. Great stmosphere, good value for money, wonderful wholesome food. Children welcome. Small outside terrace which is wonderful for watching the world go by. This is always my pit stop when I am in Amsterdam.
