A family owned (father Frans & son Bob) bistro where we serve nice dishes with a good quality - price relation in a friendly atmosphere. Like in "brasserie Vlaming" we serve here also the "worldfamous" (anyway in Amsterdam) Sticky Toffee Pie.

Perfect food and an amazing welcome

Staying in Amsterdam for the first time we tried a number of cafes and restaurants but this was the one we returned to. Small, incredibly welcoming with fresh, well cooked, delicious food. Thank you

Very cozy on a cold night. Service was good. The food that we had was mediocre. We had the chicken, and it was seriously underdone. Nothing less appetizing than rare chicken. But for that, we would have given it a better rating.

This restaurant was suggested by our host. It has a great atmosphere and the food is excellent, it's a high end restaurant but without the high end prices. I had the Angus steak and my partner had the risotto and thoroughly enjoyed it. We would recommend it especially if you find yourself in the Jordaan area of the city

This smal and cosy restaurant offers all you need: very good food, cooked perfectly, personal service and the real Amsterdam atmosphere. And not in the last place reasonably priced. Fresh and original vegetables.

My husband and two children landed on a wet and icy afternoon in Amsterdam. We were completely delighted to find this fantastic little restaurant not more than 10 mins away from out hotel. The ambience was the first thing that struck us when we went in. Cozy and intimately lit, the restaurant simply invited you in! The food was amazing... More

Cannot recommend this place enough. My boyfriend and I were in Amsterdam for NY and ate here on our first night in the city. Such a lovely introduction to the place. Warm, cosy, welcoming, fantastic food and good prices (compared to London, where we are from!). Definitely get the starter platter, but, whatever you choose will be delicious I'm sure.

This was our fourth annual return visit to Vlaming, we like it a lot! It is warm and friendly, the food is superb and it is reasonably priced. Franz Vlaming is less involved in the restaurant now (a well earned semi-retirement) but his daughter and her long standing team are doing a great job at keeping the high standards intact.... More

The food, while a little on the spendy side, was absolutely delicious. It's a little gem in the city near Anne Frank House. The staff were so welcoming. It almost felt like they had personally invited us over for dinner. The wine and dessert recommendations were beyond exceptional. It's location is perfect for anyone staying at or near Toren Hotel.... More

We booked a table here on a Friday night because of good TA reviews and were not disappointed. Pleasant, relaxed atmosphere, friendly service and excellent food. The wild boar special with cabbage and bacon mentioned by other reviewers was excellent, as were the home made truffles. Would definitely go again given the chance.

Staying in Jordaan

Neighborhood Profile
Jordaan
One of Amsterdam’s most preferred outdoor markets and some of the city’s favorite watering holes are but two of the many reasons to save ample time for a stroll through this especially convivial warren of narrow streets with its unfair share of quirky shops and quality galleries. Historically a haven for the working class and emigrants, these days the Jordaan is better known as an enclave for artists and designers. As popular as the Jordaan is as a destination for locals and out-of-towners alike, the area never feels particularly touristy or overrun with outsiders. A highlight even for long-time Jordaan residents, be sure to accept any invitation to step within one of the area’s beloved courtyards or to have a sneak peek inside one of its many working studios.
