A family owned (father Frans & son Bob) bistro where we serve nice dishes with a good quality - price relation in a friendly atmosphere. Like in "brasserie Vlaming" we serve here also the "worldfamous" (anyway in Amsterdam) Sticky Toffee Pie.

We were referred to this restaurant by the wonderful Toren Hotel. They did not steer us wrong. The food is described as delicious comfort food. My entree was chicken and was a little above average, but my mom's entree was really excellent. Our service by everyone who worked there was top notch.

A friend of us told us we have to go to Vlaming Eten & Drinken when we visit Amsterdam. And now, that we've been there, we can say, it's a must for everyone who visit A'dam. Everything (food, service, location and price) was perfect.

We were here following some reports from other contributors, and can confirm the good evaluation it has. We ordered the many times mentioned complete selection of appetizers served on a three level platter, among which the best one was the salmon tartare on blinis crackers, and a perfectly cooked thuna steak with sesam seeds and soya sauce. This can be... More

When you've had a very good experience at a restaurant, it only seems natural to try the sister enterprise. After all, one good meal deserves another! My wife and I had limited time in Amsterdam and limited interest to roaming the city searching for great restaurants. Fortunately they were right around the corner from our hotel. Having eaten at the... More

The food and drink here was absolutely amazing. The chef outdid himself and the wines were top quality but not top dollar! The staff need to be a little more friendly but a great night had by all!

The best steak I ever had, pure pleasure! Salmon tartare was wonderful, and hot chocolate cake with ice cream was extremely delicious! Bravo!

I found this restaurant through Trip Advisor and decided to give it a try. Wow! The restaurant is in the trendy Jordaan District but it feels like a nice, cozy little spot. The menu is small but I would rather a restaurant have a few, excellent dishes on the menu rather than an exhaustive list of dishes that they manufacture... More

The owner greeted us (and I believe everyone else). He is extremely personable, welcoming and considerate. Now, the food - which was SUPERB! The atmosphere (we sat outside along the canal) was wonderfully refreshing and the owner and server were extremely attentive the entire meal. We would eat there every night if we could. Just great!

It would be easy to pass by this modest looking restaurant in the Joordan area of Amsterdam. If you did you would be missing a real treat. It has the feel of a locals' eating place with food that is anything but modest. Full marks for the quality of the food and the very helpful serving staff who make you... More

Staying in Jordaan

Neighborhood Profile
Jordaan
One of Amsterdam’s most preferred outdoor markets and some of the city’s favorite watering holes are but two of the many reasons to save ample time for a stroll through this especially convivial warren of narrow streets with its unfair share of quirky shops and quality galleries. Historically a haven for the working class and emigrants, these days the Jordaan is better known as an enclave for artists and designers. As popular as the Jordaan is as a destination for locals and out-of-towners alike, the area never feels particularly touristy or overrun with outsiders. A highlight even for long-time Jordaan residents, be sure to accept any invitation to step within one of the area’s beloved courtyards or to have a sneak peek inside one of its many working studios.
