At the canal end of tiny Pepper Street two highly reviewed restaurants compete for the gastro Euro in your wallet. The review title probably suggests that this high end diner is pricey for what you get. Absolutely no complaints from us about the quality of the food, the wine and the dining experience. We went for the four course menu... More

For the first time in a very long career of writing, often about food-- I was a reviewer for the Wall Street Journal Europe-- I had what can only be described as a genuinely unique experience: the chef informed me how I was to eat something. I do remember my mother telling me not to talk with my mouth full,... More

We had a tabel reserved at 18:30 but were late. It was a sunny day and therefore we requested to sit outside in the little boat. We only left the for the payment at the end of the evening. We went for the 7 course dinner, starting of with a small amuse to roasted seer pepper, the followed by a... More

Went there twice in the last couple months, once with friends and once with business colleagues and found it a perfect experience both time. Better for a slightly informal business meeting though . The dining room is small and cosy providing a "home" like atmosphere. The food was full of flavour with great fresh ingredients. You have a set menu... More

My wife and I ate a very early meal just so we could get in to try the food here. It was well worth the odd time for dinner. The 7 course meal was wonderful and prepared with fresh ingredients, simply prepared. I am a believer in letting the ingredients speak and not over complicate things. The skate was to... More

We were doing a home exchange on a converted barge nearby on Oude Waal and stumbled on this restaurant while strolling the nearby streets . The first night we tried to get in without a booking and were disappointed . We returned and despite our booking being mislaid [probably because we were unable to give a contact telephone number we... More

By far, one of the most memorable meals we've had anywhere. My husband and I live to eat and anyone who is a "foodie" by nature will appreciate this restaurant. We chose the 7 course option and added a plate of fresh oysters to start. The menu is set and apparently changes often if not daily. We were offered wines... More

A dining experience not to be missed! My brother and sister in law gave us the recommendation. We chose the 4 course menu which also included an amuse bouche. The service was excellent. We were talked through each course and discovered new tastes all evening. The star of the show was the perfectly cooked turbot. Strongly recommend.

Expect "Head to Tail" meat, excellent fish and seafood. Meat and fish play a main role, they are left 'alone' (no overdose of spices and sauces). Pure delight! Rely on their choice of wine, they know what they are doing.
