the brothers hartering and their crew are great hosts and foodlovers. From a young age they already cared for the vegetables and animals around them. Special set menu of 4 or 7 dishes in a wonderful setting with one of the most romantic views of small canals around the restaurant. Reserve in advance.

We did have a really nice and special dinner. The choices of menu are limited, but can be found on the same day at the website. All dishes are obviously made with extreme care and the flavors are perfectly matched. The marinated fish particularly impressed us and later the two ways prepared wild boar. Best crème brûlée ever tasted, with... More

Make reservation before going there. These guys know how to combine service, atmosphere and great (experimental) cuisine. The staff is typical Amsterdam style.

This restaurant is meant for people with taste, with appreciation for wine, service, and high level quality of food. To keep the freshness of their products this restaurant offers you 2 types of menus. 40 Eur of 60 Eur. We opt for the 40 Eur menu (pp) with four courses. All the courses were prepared with a high level of... More

At the canal end of tiny Pepper Street two highly reviewed restaurants compete for the gastro Euro in your wallet. The review title probably suggests that this high end diner is pricey for what you get. Absolutely no complaints from us about the quality of the food, the wine and the dining experience. We went for the four course menu... More

For the first time in a very long career of writing, often about food-- I was a reviewer for the Wall Street Journal Europe-- I had what can only be described as a genuinely unique experience: the chef informed me how I was to eat something. I do remember my mother telling me not to talk with my mouth full,... More

We had a tabel reserved at 18:30 but were late. It was a sunny day and therefore we requested to sit outside in the little boat. We only left the for the payment at the end of the evening. We went for the 7 course dinner, starting of with a small amuse to roasted seer pepper, the followed by a... More

Went there twice in the last couple months, once with friends and once with business colleagues and found it a perfect experience both time. Better for a slightly informal business meeting though . The dining room is small and cosy providing a "home" like atmosphere. The food was full of flavour with great fresh ingredients. You have a set menu... More

My wife and I ate a very early meal just so we could get in to try the food here. It was well worth the odd time for dinner. The 7 course meal was wonderful and prepared with fresh ingredients, simply prepared. I am a believer in letting the ingredients speak and not over complicate things. The skate was to... More

We were doing a home exchange on a converted barge nearby on Oude Waal and stumbled on this restaurant while strolling the nearby streets . The first night we tried to get in without a booking and were disappointed . We returned and despite our booking being mislaid [probably because we were unable to give a contact telephone number we... More
