I'm just finished a very tortuous and long trip. Tired. Starving. Jet lagged. Wandering around, saw the other reviews and decided to give it a shot. 1) Efes beer is delicious. 2) the mixed grill was out of this world - maybe the best I've ever had. 3) same for the Greek salad 4) my waitress was amazing. I had... More

The image of Turkish restaurants in Europe is largely dominated by on-the-go Doner Kebap. If this is what you are looking for, Orontes is not the place you are looking for. The name of the restaurant refers to a river reaching the Mediterranean in the Antalya region, and the restaurant specializes on dishes from that region. A true highlight, a... More

The dishes are very good: the tastes is exactly the one that I am used when travelling in the mediterranean, the price is well in line with the restaurants around (and in general, in the Netherlands). The lamb chops were superb. Furthermore, the kitchen closes a bit later than other restaurant in the netherlands. I would go there again.

I went there with my husband and we loved it. The place is very simple and cozy, with photographs from 1980s in Istanbul hanging on the wall. The food was absolutely great, full of flavour and the service was good. We had cheese sigara, baba ganouch, oruk, lamb skewers and dorade fish, served with complimentary fresh baked bread. And of... We were looking for a pleasant and calm place to dine after a small walk... 3 restaurants afterwards, all with closed kitchen due to a major game, this was our last try. The place was really calm, with only a few tables occupied, but we were really welcomed. We had a delicious meal, and stayed until quite late having drinks.... More

Lentil soup was delicious. Service was good. Server very pleasant. It seemed to have a lot of locals eating there and we enjoyed that as well.

Really had a mixed experience here, which hesitates me from recommending to go back... Pro's - - Able to adjust reservation at last minute from 4 to 6 people - Food was pretty good (fish tasty), mains were large (but starters small) - Value for money is reasonable (we tried the house Turkish white, surprisingly good) Con's - - Service... We had 6 different mezzes, all tasty, well executed, with fresh products and generously portioned. The service was quick and courteous. With a full bottle of wine we ate for less than 50 euros for two. Quite good for Amsterdam!

Not only the best grilled fish - succulent and perfectly seasoned, generous in size, never over cooked (and I've tried a lot of grilled dorade dishes around this town) - but also one of the few places where I can order the walnotensalade which is made with pomegranate syrup for a very special flavor. Also the best hummus I've tasted... More

very excellent restaurant, meat dishes were cooked in a simple but very tasty way; friendly and welcoming atmosphere, (we wanted to go again during our holidays); normal prices; a place not to be missed
