Restaurant has a set price fixe menu at 25 euros. The dishes were tasty and a nice sized portion. We had to wait five minutes for our reservation and were offered a drink complimentary for the minor inconvenience. Excellent and attentive service. The restaurant is in the cellar and has large windows to watch passerbys. Very fun and cool place.

We ate here on our 1st night in Amsterdam. A lovely smiling welcome (we didn't come across a grumpy waitress or server in all our meals in the city) and shown to a table despite no reservation. The place is cosy, mix of locals & visitors, but has a lovely atmosphere and we chatted with the people on the adjacent... More

We went to the restaurant as it was near the theatre we were going afterwards but it was a tiny place that turned out to be a major find. The three course set meal was one of the best we have have ever had in the Netherlands and was a set price of €25. Imaginative food, a wide choice and... More

Great food and atmosphere. Very tiny place, so make reservations or get there early, as the restaurant only seats about 30 or so. Service is very good, and a fun, relaxing meal. Wonderful experience.

Was fortunate enough to score a table here without reservations. Just loved the atmosphere. My husband had the venison and I had the pumpkin stuffed pasta. Both were very good. We had the warm apple crumble for dessert. This place was well worth the 25 Euro per person we paid for the meal.

Intimate and cosy, food is insanely good. We visited twice a year apart and the quality hadn't faltered at all. Hoping we'll be back again in another year!

I ate at de Struisvogel several times, and I have never been disappointed. In summer you can sit outside and watch people passing by in the canal, in winter you enjoy the warm atmosphere inside... The food is great and well-priced, especially the 3-course menu. Ostrich is of course not to be missed, but other mains are worth trying. The... More

We ate here following recommendations from Tripadvisor: I would recommend booking in advance as the restaurant is small and popular. The restaurant was cosy but slightly cramped (having to squeeze between tables to reach your seat - not so bad before your meal but not so easy afterwards... ;-) . We ate from the set menu which was reasonably priced... More

It is a very little place (therefore book in advance!) very well located on the Kaisergracht. The menus as well as the wines are at very reasonable prices and were delightful. But the number 1 reason for having dinner at the Struisvogel is the exceptionally friendly and charming service!

This charming little spot at basement level was reasonably priced and very good. The three-course prix fixe menu had choices of five items for each course, and is a good deal. The two of us had the coconut carrot soup and beef carpaccio (slight price supplement) for appetizers, Mains were brioche with goat cheese and tomatoes, and Belgian beef stew.... More
