We came across this lovely restaurant which is tucked away on Keizergracht. For only €26 we had a delicious three course meal, the food was excellent, the menu is simple but stylish and the service was second to none. The quality of the food was matched by the wine list. We would recommend this little gem - its not a... More

I love when you just stroll around with no direct goal... and in Amsterdam thats the way to do the town. Suddenly you just trip over a freindly looking restaurant... and de Struivogel hits almost full points. Nice food, decent wine list and lovely staff...really cozy. Dont miss out on this one.

I have been to this restaurant 4 times, each time has been superb. A cute cosy basement restaurant 5 mins walk from Anne Frank house. My favourite meal is the venison. 3 courses around 25 euros. Great service. This is my favourite restaurant in Amsterdam.

We had a great 3 course dinner at De Struisvogel on our friend's recommendation. The menu is not very overwhelming, the food is delicious, and the prices affordable. We ordered the veal and strawberry salad for appetizers, and lamb stew and venison for mains. All dishes were cooked very well. Our favourite was the lamb stew. The flavours were very... More

Me and my girlfriend had dinner in this singular restaurant. We arrived at 20 o'clock and had the 3 course menu with stag meat as main course. We enjoyed it very much. The service was a little slow, but the food very nice.

On our last evening in Amsterdam we found this small and good restaurant. We arrived at around 18.30 and this was good, until 19.15 the whole place filled up. We both had the 3 course menu. All dishes were very tasty. The service was good and fast as well. We can highly recommend this restaurant!

We were there for eating dinner at friday evening. Really a nice and typical place to eat. The service were very personal and sympatic. The food excellent. The only negativ point is that in this small room the level of all the voices is extremly loud. I know thats not a really a negativ point for the restaurant as self... More

We picked this restaurant for our first night in Amsterdam as it was relatively near our apartment and the set menu seemed good value. The food turned out to be absolutely lovely and we were completely stuffed – the venison steak was particularly good. The service was also good, but they seemed a bit understaffed towards the end of the... More

We really enjoyed this tiny resteraunt. The one friendly and efficient waitress did a great job of keeping everyone happy. We had the veal and it was delicious with a beautiful apricot sauce. Even though they advertise a set fee for three courses they are happy to allow people to as few course they want.

Did not like the service, we had a negative experience with an extremely rude waiter who tried to move us to a worse location as she assumed we were not going to have dinner. I went for dinner there a couple of times before, did not particularly like food nor drinks and, again, the service.
