On our last evening in Amsterdam we found this small and good restaurant. We arrived at around 18.30 and this was good, until 19.15 the whole place filled up. We both had the 3 course menu. All dishes were very tasty. The service was good and fast as well. We can highly recommend this restaurant!

We were there for eating dinner at friday evening. Really a nice and typical place to eat. The service were very personal and sympatic. The food excellent. The only negativ point is that in this small room the level of all the voices is extremly loud. I know thats not a really a negativ point for the restaurant as self... More

We picked this restaurant for our first night in Amsterdam as it was relatively near our apartment and the set menu seemed good value. The food turned out to be absolutely lovely and we were completely stuffed – the venison steak was particularly good. The service was also good, but they seemed a bit understaffed towards the end of the... More

We really enjoyed this tiny resteraunt. The one friendly and efficient waitress did a great job of keeping everyone happy. We had the veal and it was delicious with a beautiful apricot sauce. Even though they advertise a set fee for three courses they are happy to allow people to as few course they want.

Did not like the service, we had a negative experience with an extremely rude waiter who tried to move us to a worse location as she assumed we were not going to have dinner. I went for dinner there a couple of times before, did not particularly like food nor drinks and, again, the service.

We went to this restaurant for my husbands birthday and what a choice. The food was absolutely delicious. They have a set menu of 3 courses for 25 euro which is great value for money, especially in Amsterdam. The restaurant is down some steep steps in a basement and has a lovely cosy atmosphere and quite romantic. The young girl serving... More

I visited this restaurant twice during my recent stay in Amsterdam - once for dinner, and once just to enjoy a few beers in the sun while shopping. Delicious food, with a pretty eclectic menu to choose from (Scottish venison?) My beer was a little bit flat, but it was also pretty cheap so I got over it. I'd recommend... More

We had struisvogel's menu, which costs 25 euro. Even the bread they serve is really delicious. For a starter we both had a wild pheasant rillettes, that was incredible. For a main course we both had a venison steak with red wine butter as a sauce. It was the most tender steak I ever had in my life. For a... More

We ate here during a recent stay in Amsterdam and were more than a little underwhelmed. It was packed, although it is a small restaurant. We were left with a menu for 40 minutes and very nearly walked out; in hindsight we wished we had. When food arrived it was okay and nothing more. Nothing was unpleasant or badly cooked,... More
