Found this restaurant on trip advisor. We both really enjoyed our meal here. Really tasty food and great value. The waitress was very attentive and friendly. Even though there were only 3 tables occupied it was still a really nice, bustling atmosphere. I recommend the ostrich, so so tender!

We had trip advisor handy while strolling back home and this lovely restaurant popped up on the radar. We both had the ostrich steak - one with the flavored butter and one with the sauce of the day. First time we have tried this dish and it did not disappoint. The soup of the day and pork belly were also... More

Visited on Sunday evening. Didn't book a table but was able to chose between 2. Really good food and very good value for money. Lovely atmosphere. Would go back again.

Christmas dinner was outstanding! We are fans of game, and scoured the Internet for Amsterdam restaurants serving venison. Only two blocks from our apartment, this turned out to be a great find. Food, wine and service all made for a memorable meal, and we will definitely return to partake of the rest of the menu.

I had dinner one evening in this sweet little restaurant and would certainly recommend it. The bisque and slow cooked veal cheek were very tasty and so filling I couldn't manage a sweet. The service was friendly and prompt too. The lighting is bit bit low though, making it a bit hard to actually see ones food!

A colleague and i were told this place was one restaurant all the locals were talking about. We were not disappointed the service was excellent and the food simply brilliant. They have ostrich back on the menu after a 5 year lack of supply. We had a three course meal with soup a main and a wonderful apple crumble. Would... More

I liked the variety of dishes and the organic ingredients combined in a genuine and tasty way. The little restaurant in this nice are of the city is cozy, the service is kind and careful and the quality/price is worthy. I recommend it!

Recently stayed in Amsterdam and this was our best meal of the trip. Nice small restaurant. Tons of atmosphere. Good value food and our waitress was lovely. Great location in the popular Nine St area. Nice enough for a romantic meal but equally good for a group booking. Give it a go.

We loved restaurant De Struisvogel. It is a very tiny restaurant and you should not have difficulties with small spaces and sitting right next to others that you don't know as this might happen. But to us this was what created the atmosphere. The food is very good, an attractive menu with classics and something new to try. Very reasonably... More
