Went there last night on my own at 6.30pm - three tables (one for two, one for four and one for six people) still empty, only to be told they are all booked for 6.45. Having had a lovely Italian meal around the corner and having spent Euro 55,00 on my own, I pass the Struisvogel again at 7,45 pm... More

My wife did a bit of research on Tripadvisor and found this super little restaurant a few minutes walk from our hotel (Hotel Estherea). Perfect place to eat in what I would call a cosy bistro type atmosphere. Booked a table by phone for a Friday night and was glad I did as people were being turned away as they... More

My partner and i ate here one evening last week. The restaurant is pretty small- i think it holds 30 or so people, and it is in a basement with windows set at pavement level. Because of the size of the place it feels more like you are in someones house than a restaurant and it is really informal. Food... More

Went here on spec tonight and loved the food. The 3 course menu@ 29 euro is great value. Starters are fresh and imaginative, mains very well constructed. Well worth a visit.

Great, organically sourced food, would definitely eat here again. I found the recipes were original and delicious. Also, the service was fast and professional.

I have been to this place several times now and I have yet to be disappointed. The food is very good and has a really fresh taste to it and the staff are very friendly and efficient. Its reasonably priced for the centre of Amsterdam. This place is not for the clostrophobic, the seating is tight, even by Amsterdam standards,... More

Eating out in Amsterdam, on the three previous occasions Jo and I have visited, has never been much of a priority for us. I see now that this was, perhaps, a bit of an error. We have just returned from a weekend there with our friends, Jen and Chris. On our final night there, we decided to see if we... More

We came across this lovely restaurant which is tucked away on Keizergracht. For only €26 we had a delicious three course meal, the food was excellent, the menu is simple but stylish and the service was second to none. The quality of the food was matched by the wine list. We would recommend this little gem - its not a... More

I love when you just stroll around with no direct goal... and in Amsterdam thats the way to do the town. Suddenly you just trip over a freindly looking restaurant... and de Struivogel hits almost full points. Nice food, decent wine list and lovely staff...really cozy. Dont miss out on this one.

I have been to this restaurant 4 times, each time has been superb. A cute cosy basement restaurant 5 mins walk from Anne Frank house. My favourite meal is the venison. 3 courses around 25 euros. Great service. This is my favourite restaurant in Amsterdam.
