So glad we went

We were a family of seven, waited a couple of minutes for a table and was served the most lovely meal, homecooked food, the stew was beautifull, tasty and the vegetables much appreciated. Generous portions and lovely dessert, all served by the friendly and interesting owners of the restaurant. The... read more

We walked all the way out there for this place and there is a sign on the door that says they are on vacation till August 7th. Too bad because we were really looking forward to it.

Small local restaurant. Not touristy but very busy. Had to wait in the entrance for a table for about half an hour with little communication from staff but this little place caters to locals who know how it works. Worth the wait. Traditional food, large portions, cheap. Great service once inside. Would definitely go back.

We stumbled upon this restaurant one evening will walking around Amsterdam. The place was packed so we decided to stop in. We were not disappointed. The food was just great quality, traditional Dutch food. The split pea soup was great. But the highlight was the meatball. It is an item that must be ordered! We will ensure to visit every... More

The food was great and had that home made feel to it. We had the beef stew, beef tartare, fish of the day and chicken with Hap-hmm sauce (saucer of the day) there was a lot of food we couldn't finish it all so it's well worth the money. Our neighbors desserts looked amazing too! Certainly worth a try. The... More

We choose to eat here on our first night as it was close to our hotel. It was our cheapest dinner we had In Amsterdam but one of the best. first we choose a bottle of wine very nice for 15 euros. we then both had a home made soup, out of this world for 2 euro each. For mains... More

We asked at our hotel for a recommendation for a good home cooking type of restaurant that locals frequent and were directed to this delightful restaurant. We arrived @ 4:30 when it opened, thinking we would be the only ones there (we had just flown in from the U.S. And figured we would be way early for the European crowd).... More

The food here was really tasty. We had the veal, meatball and beef stew. The prices are very reasonable. Staff was really friendly. I felt like I was in a local restaurant not a touristy place which We loved. Every dish comes with potatoes fried or boiled, and vegetables.

We were the only visitors this evening. The food is down home filling and typical Dutch food. We had stew, wonderful, steak, good not great, and vegetarian platter. You also get potatoes and vegetables the meal. We started with soup, only 2 euro..and good! Very busy and small.
