They serve traditional Dutch food - I had stewed beef served with sauce, boiled potatoes and vegetables. The food was excellent, and it was really good value. The staff was friendly and helpful. Even that the restaurant was full, the food came fast. It seems to be a restaurant frequented by the local, specially seniors. I recommend if you are... More

Had beef stew - special of the house with boiled potato. It''s family styled Dutch food. Very simple and mostly patronized by seniors. Not the kind of food that I like.

Family run restaurant ,very cozy and charming. Mostly locals come there to eat. The owners know everyone by their first name. Some of the regulars come for over 25 years. The food is great. You getting home cooked meal for a very reasonable price. The service is excellent.Unfortunately discovered it on our last day in Amsterdam ,otherwise would come again... More

It's like eating at home with your family, if your family was Dutch! It's comfort food at its best and you should eat there at least once if you are visiting Amsterdam.

Small and off the beaten track. Only open for 4 1/2 hours from 4:30 on. Dutch home cooking, plain, but really delicious, well prepared, with generous portions. English menu available, and English spoken. A mom and pop organization, in the best sense of the word. Seek it out!

If you want to be a non tourist for a day go here, tons of locals come there for dinner , they do have English menus if needed. Everything is fresh and traditional from our experience. The waitrons were very friendly , decent English speaking and good recommendations. Food was piping hot and perfect portion sizes. Highly recommend this place... More

As cities go, Amsterdam is small, so even that this special little eatery is off the tourist path, it's not a terribly long walk - through one of the most picturesque cities of Europe - just a short bike ride from the middle of town. This is authentic, from the homey ambience and service on down to the food -... More

As usual the best places are just off of the "tourist route". This is unpretentious home (huis) cooked Dutch comfort food. No pictures/no English menu. Arrive right when they open at 4:30 and sit at a communal table and ask the others for translation. I asked the 3 men at my table and all they could tell me was that... More

set up in someone's living room, this family run restaurant has been around for over 35 years. It's a typical meat n 2 veg menu. Although prices have risen a lot over the last 2 years, it's still a reasonable place to eat. Only open Mon-Fri until 8pm. Cooking is plain . like your granny used to prepare,
