A local favorite!

We were the only visitors this evening. The food is down home filling and typical Dutch food. We had stew, wonderful, steak, good not great, and vegetarian platter. You also get potatoes and vegetables the meal. We started with soup, only 2 euro..and good! Very busy and small.

i ordered the meatballs, the stew and the chicken i believe. regardless, everything was amazing and its a cool quaint place that im guessing its family owned. inexpensive and super friendly, make the trip and enjoy the meal. plus, a shot of vodka is less than 2 euros, how can one go wrong :)

We were recommended here by the owners where we were staying, really impressed with the quality of the food and the place had a lovely atmosphere which seemed popular with the locals. Highly recommend!

Be prepared to stand in line - but the wait is worth it. The food is delicious and the atmosphere is great. I had the meatball with fries and the fries were the best that I've had in quite a while. The vegetables were served family style. Portion sizes are on the large side - so be hungry when you... More

I'm told Hap Hmm translates to "Yummy Bite" in English. And it was. Grandma's Meatball (a huge one) was accompanied by delicious boiled potatoes and vegetables and could be enjoyed for 8,50 euros! My friend's generous serving of tomato soup cost only 2,00 euros. The only "miss" was the veggie burger. Tasteless. After arriving in the city that morning and... More

Terrific hashee (Dutch dish - not something you smoke!) and fried fish. Came with boiled potatoes and red cabbage. I mashed the potatoes and mixed some of the hashee gravy with them. Quite lekker! Wash it down with an Oud Bruin (Old Brown), which is a slightly sweet, dark brown beer prevalent in The Netherlands.

This restaurant is one of the few non-touristic restaurant in Amsterdam. Holland tipical cousine and very good dishes. Very good the starters, shrimps served with hot sauce and fried calamares with coucumber sauce and the home made soup. Maybe they can do better with the main dishes but they were simple wonderful. Dishes are served with vegetables and fried or... More

We ate here recently on our stay in Amsterdam. It was the Tuesday night after Kings Day, and we arrived about 7pm. There were approx 13-15 people waiting for a table. It is a tiny place and they don't take bookings. We decided to wait, and about 30mins later we were in Its a pleasant suburban bistro-type place with no pretensions.... More

We were recommended to go here by our nearby hotel owner who said the food was for half nothing - but you need to get there before 7.45 pm. as the kitchen closes at 8 p.m. We had to wait for about ten minutes to get a table, more came available as we got ours. Quite crowded and the tables... More
