We droppedin for breakfast on our first morning in Amsterdam. It was a delightful experience. Fresh bread, croissants, cheese, ham, cinnamon bread and jam. Beautiful freshly squeezed orange juice. Fast and friendly service. definately recommended.

Joffers is a pleasant short walk from the Hilton and a lovely place to have a meal it is on a corner and has outside tables which are well used when it's warm outside. We both had Vitelli ton ato which was very nice and well priced. I had pannacotta fir dessert and Richard had the macarons, both of which... More

Very welcoming and the food was excellent, however we found the menu quite limited. I would recommend it.

We spent a lovely early evening having drinks and early dinner outside on the brasserie pavement watching Amsterdam come home after a day at work. Messmeric watching the cycles and so few cars (counted only 8 at a minute at rush hour!)

This establishment offers a delicious choice of breakfast dishes. I tried the Dutch breakfast which was very enjoyable and rather filling. The omelet which my other half had looked very good to. The menu looked good for burger lovers also. The service was good enough nice and relaxed with a nice attitude. Really liked it here food was fresh and... More

Lonely Planet gave this place somewhat of a rave review, so we took the tram out to experience it. Certainly we had a perfectly fine experience, but not quite to that level; perhaps they've changed ownership or chefs since. In particular, the menu sounded a lot more interesting in the LP review. I ended up with a beef steak, which... More

Great place for an aperitif or coffee. It's very reminiscent of a Parisian cafe. It is frequented by locals as as a guest of the Museum suites around the corner you get a 10% discount.

De Joffers is one of those long standing Amsterdam lunch rooms where they serve breakfast, lunch and diner. The owners are trueoly genuine people with a passion! They have an heated terrace and in summer time be sure to sit outside and enjoy the people passing by! Enjoy your breakfast, lunch or diner and remember it's always busy!

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighborhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
