A Beer and a snack

Felt like a beer and a snack, turned out to be a great choice. Good standard pub grub. Very Friendly service staff.

We came here to watch the rugby world cup and we had a good time untill we had to pay. We left in two groups and the barman tried to make the last group pay the entire bill again, even though the first group paid their share already. They refused to let us go and were very agressive. We showed... More

Good evening Laura, Thanks for your review and feedback and always pleasant to hear of guests coming back after finding us on a stroll through town. Our burgers are imported from Ireland and though I am unsure who or what this Big Al may be, I can assure you our burgers are not his work. Thankfully we have a butcher... More

This pub is quiet. Not much going on in it. I was having a mediocre evening up until I ordered a baby Guinness. I was given a half pint of Guinness. I politely explained to the bar man, who was Irish, that a baby Guinness is a shot of tia Maria and baileys. I asked him nicely could he ammend... More

Good evening Sarah and thank you for your review. I am sorry to hear of your experience with our staff as by the sound of it is a completely unnecessary escalation of a misunderstanding in regards to the drink you ordered. Though we do not generally serve shots in our pub, our bartender should have double checked with you if... More

Found this little gem down a side street in Amsterdam. And only short walk from Centraal Station. A big thank you to the staff, especially Nuala, who made it an even greater experience. Brilliant craic, great beer. A must on any trip. Looking forward to quiz night!

Recommended fairly standard Irish Pub / Sports bar in central Amsterdam. A little tricky to find but once in there, has a good selection of food and drinks. I particularly recommend the Irish Breakfast which is very tasty.

Staying in Red Light District (De Wallen)

Neighborhood Profile
Red Light District (De Wallen)
To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its saucier aspects would mean missing the opportunity to view some of the city’s most picturesque canals, historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples of traditional local architecture – not to mention Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some less salubrious activities drawing the curious to this age-old part of time. Nevertheless, the Red Light District is still a very safe and incredibly fascinating area where at the turn of a corner you can be transported from the dingy glow of modern day neon red to a glorious 16th century Delft blue dreamscape.
