We were very excited about trying out Indonesian food in our Amsterdam trip. I am a vegetarian who doesn't eat eggs which I clearly told them. Even though I ordered a vegetarian dish they served fish. And the worse thing was they were not even apologetic.

We visited this restaurant to celebrate my Dad's 75th bday and our group of 8 was shown wonderful service. The way to go is to order the rice variety dishes. They bring over a huge amount of tapas type dishes. You can choose vegetarian, fish or meat. We did a variety of the 3. It was all delicious and I... More

We thought we had made a reservation through our hotel but got there to find out that the reservation was not made and that they were fully booked. To our relief the squeezed us in and we were very grateful

I have spent some time in Indonesia and yet was pleasantly surprised to find the best Indonesian food in Amsterdam at Blauw. It was the best meal of our time in Amsterdam and only wish Blauw was a little closer to home in USA so we could enjoy it more often. Order the "rice plates" which come with ~10 side... More

A relative and our travel agent both recommended this restaurant, and we were glad we went. Delicious Indonesian food with the rice table a must. Note that Blauw is very casual -- but very popular. Definitely need a reservation. Worth it!

This place is definitely a nice restaurant, but it depends a bit on what you are looking for. We ordered two versions of the “rice table” (normal and vegetarian, both about 30 euro) and were bombarded with a very impressive and tasty mix of typical Indonesian dishes (rice, tofu, meat, fish, and vegetables). The food was really nice and the... More

This restaurant is not in the down town tourist area, but the number 1 or 2 tram will take you from the city centre to Overtoomsesluis, from where it is a 5-10 minute stroll past Vondelpark to the street where the restaurant is located. We particularly liked the fact that we booked online and the restaurant immediately confirmed our reservation... More

This was the best dinner in Amsterdam. The staff was amazingly nice. I really dont know how to describe the food. The reijstaffle (dont know the correct spelling) can easiest be described like this: About 1000 DELICIOUS indonesian tapas, that each one would have been tasteful dinners, were served. Breath taking. We ordered the fish, meat and vegetables one =... More

Ate at some of the highly-recommended Amsterdam restaurants (including the much-praised De Kas) but I must say Blauw was my favorite. Beautifully-presented rice table and some perfectly-prepared appetizers. Traditional Indonesian food with a twist--elegantly prepared.

What a great restaurant, was taken here as a surprise and was introduced to the many different individual dishes of Indonesian food which were Devine a great way to try the different tasting food.
