We were in Amsterdam for 3 nights, we had frites from here for lunch 3 days running. So perfectly crisp on the outside, fluffy inside, just a joy to eat. We like them with sate sauce. Take them to Spui Square for a bench to sit and eat them on. The pigeons will hang about but they won't get any... More

Having read a number of raving reviews, I almost expected to be disappointed. I wasn't. I don't know if these are the best chips in Amsterdam but they are the best chips I had there. And probably on the shortlist for the best chips I had in my life. Really worth queuing for.

Lots of places serve frites in Amsterdam, Vlaams is one of the best. If you like spicy, try the Samurai sauce instead of mayo. The mayo tasted more like miracle whip than mayo to me, so I suggest trying some of the other condiments available like spicy mustard.

On the Corner of Voetboogstraat centrum and Heiligweg centrum is a very small store that serves the tasties freshest chips possible. They have at least 6 huge frying vats going non stop and there is always a huge line outside waiting. There are many chains that sell chips in Amsterdam along with other products and a few dedicated to just... More

Always stop here on every trip for the best frites i've ever had. The quality is always the same every visit. I've tried quite few sauces too and the Sambal i enjoy the most. Great little hunger filler for the afternoons exploring the area. Sit opposite on the steps watching the world go by.

I finally found this small, off the beaten path stand just off Kalverstraat. It was worth it. Maybe the best fires I`ve had. These are fried in vegetable oil and served with the traditional locals preferred choice of mayonnaise at no additional cost in 2 sizes, small [2.15 Euro] and medium [2.75]. Many other sauces are available at + .50... More

I was walking past when I saw a gathering outside a shop. Not really knowing what it was I came closer and saw they were selling fries. As it looked quite popular and I was looking for lunch I thought it would be a great stop. This is only a hole in the wall but what a great place! The... More

It's not just a legend - they are indeed better. I don't know why, but they taste better than others, and are crispier on the outsided withou being dry. Although you must remember that they are still french fries...

The chips are amazing, we tried the mayo and peanut butter sous and it was freakishly good. Well worth the money and time waiting in line.
