Description: Finding an Irish pub in the centre of Amsterdam as true as Hoopman is a difficult task. Hoopman offers a broad selection of Irish whiskeys, stouts and draughts. As well as Irish drinks, Hoopman offers a great selection of pub grub. Above all our Irish staff will always give you a feeling like you are at home. Hoopman is situated on Het Leidseplein in the bustling centre of Amsterdam where you will find that Hoopman serves as a warm and cosy haven from the busy streets. In the winter you can take shelter for a warm drink inside and in the summer you can refresh yourself with a cool drink on our terrace. Hoopman organizes a ton of events over the year. We always show all main sport events on our screen, from the 6 nations' rugby to the Champions league's soccer. Saint Patrick's Day is celebrated every year with a big party where we have Irish dancers to perform traditional dances throughout the evening. Hoopman is always decorated for special days, on Halloween everything is covered in webs and for Christmas we are covered in lights and surrounded by Christmas trees. Hoopman is sure to give you a good feeling: whether you are Irish or not, our staff will certainly give you a warm Irish welcome to Amsterdam!

The rudest treatment ever. I was kicked out because I was crying for my personal lost. Boldheaded securityguy didn't listen to me and threated me with night in jail. He said that I was sleeping, and I wasn't. That treatment would have been ok, if I was too drunk. But I really wasn't. When I asked for a moment with... More

This is my favorite pub in Amsterdam, and I went there three times this visit, twice with my best friend. Of course, I'm crazy about their steak and fries, but I also had the Chicken Kebobs in Peanut Sauce and it, too, was terrific. Of course, the Irish beer is superb, too. I always have the black and tan.

Sat outside on their terrace (there was one other group of four there) at about 7pm for 15 minutes while a miserable looking waitress wandered around folding blankets and ignoring us, so we left and went somewhere else. Quite pathetic.

Came here for lunch twice during our stay. We really enjoyed the food we had and it wasn't too expensive. Plenty of choice too!

Good bar, busy with a good atmosphere, served quickly. Why they had Dad's Army on the TV Saturday evening however is anyone's guess!
