I can understand the comments by other reviewers regarding the service at this restaurant. I'm glad that I was just there for lunch and not dinner. After a long period the waiter finally brought our entrée but forgot to bring the wine. A couple next to us was having the same problem. They brought the entrée for the man and... More

Quiet area, but the food and service is excellent. Try the fries with mayo. The sandwiches are also great. Reasonably priced.

We arrived on a sunny lunchtime. All tables outside were occupied so we were seated inside. The food smelled fabulous. We sat. We waited for a menu. We wondered if we were invisible. We tried to catch the eye of ANYONE passing. We waited. After 20 minutes with no menu, and no sign of attention we left. If they were... More

Nothing special about this place except prices and bad service. Waiter hasn't bring part of our order. But pretty common way of serve here in Amsterdam.

We had a very good fishsoup and a delicious artisjok. The maincourse though was of very pour quality. The fish of the day was old, the sauce was like they had opened a can of tomato sauce. The side salade had barely any dressing. The waiters look like they hate their job and they hate the people that come to... More

My wife and I stumbled across George and couldn't have been happier with our dining experience. We are from Seattle and have salmon frequently but this was the best we have ever had. It was prepared perfectly. My steak and fries was also excellent. I highly recommend George if you are staying in the neighborhood.

It's a fine restaurant, food is very nice. Typical Oud-Zuid ("Old South, the neigbourhood) public, look and be seen. Food and service is fine!

Having been here on a precious visit we decided to go again for brunch. We had booked a table for 6 people and it was ready even though we arrived a little early. Took a while for our order to be taken - 20 mins - and the even longer wait for it to arrive. Service on this occasion was... More

We arrived & sat outside. Nice setting. After about 15min asked for a menu ( I said to my wife, I would normally leave if it was going to be like that but having experienced in Brussels off kitchens closing at 2.30pm, we couldn't take that risk) & then waited another 15min & asked if they mind if we ordered... George WPA (refers to the street of it's location: Willemsparkweg, in English WillemsparkAvenue) and is a parisian style brasserie with 2 more locations in Amsterdam. Good atmosphere in the upscale part of Amsterdam: Zuid (South). Impressive buildings, exclusive shopping streets nearby (e.g. Cornelisz Schuytstraat). Both look and feel, menu and people visiting this place are all in line. Informal setting... More
