Frankly I don't think my review will make one bit of difference - I see a catalogue of past reviewers complaining about the appalling service at George W.P.A. But just in case it can help someone I feel compelled to write. Went without reservation last sunny Sunday and took a seat outside (it was busy but by no means full).... More

I had dinner with friends, food is good, location is nice and surrounding very "gezellig" Can certainly recommend going there

A trendy place with lots of wannabees. The food is OK, but looking into the kitchen I was startled by the lack of hygiene. The chefs never wash their hands, wear grubby uniforms and will handle raw and prepared food with the same unwashed hands. The air vent above us (see pic) shows the (lack of) attention for hygiene. Service... More

I stumbled on this restaurant whilst wondering around this area; I had a late lunch, so I had no problems getting a table, and the service was reasonably quick. I can see this getting busy at lunchtime and evening, though. Nothing spectacular food wise, but good, well prepared food. A little pricey.

We stumbled upon this restaurant while out for a walk. It is appears smallish, but does open up on the inside. There is an outdoor section weather permitting, as well as a tiny bar with a half dozen stools. The starter portions are very large, try the pizza tuna or chef's salad. For main course we had the leg of... More

The staff could not have been more friendly and the food though simple was superb. I can recommend the blackened tuna and the duck confit. The frites are to die for. We went one night and were so delighted that we went back again. It gets very busy so a reservation might be a good idea.

We booked this restaurant for an informal lunch on my son's 21st birthday and were very, very disappointed. Firstly they had messed up the booking but they quickly sorted it out and sat us at a table for 6 as requested. However we were then left and had to ask for menus. To cut a long story short we ended... More

My daughter Lisa, who lives in Amsterdam, took me and grand-daughter to George in Oud Zuid for a meal. The best butternut squash and goats cheese risotto I've ever tasted. They enjoyed blackened tuna and pizza very much too and recommended the fries. Great friendly service - chatted with the chef too - heartily recommend.

This is a place where over the last couple of years I have gone with a colleauge and always been good - service has been on the slow side but still fine. Yesterday I understand that they have new owners and it shows!!!! The staff where like 'deer in headlights' - food took over 2 hours to get, rude service... More
