Description: In the heart of the Amsterdam neighborhood known as 'De Jordaan', there is a street popularly known as 'Little Italy'. This street owes its nickname to the relatively large amount of high standard Italian restaurants in the area. Only one of these makes pizzas: La Perla. We've built a large wood fueled brick oven, which is essential to baking a great pizza. You can take away our pizzas, or - when in the Jordaan, do as the Jordanezen do - eat in the pizzeria, have an espresso or a dessert and enjoy the lively in- and outdoor scene.

As an Italian working abroad, I am always hoping to find an authentic Italian pizzeria away from home. I chose a pizza Margherita, which unfortunately did not live up to my expectations. Although the buffalo mozzarella was good and a pleasant surprise, the quantity was extremely scarce, causing the pizza to be very dry. The small quantity of sauce did... More

Impressive oven, good choice of pizzas, the one with Porchetta di Ariccia is a must, fast cooking, really delicios. I tried two types: porchetta and prosciutto, both excellent. I strongly recommend.

If you are sucker for a real italian pizza you have to visit this place when you are in Amsterdam. The restaurant is situated in a heart of Jordaan. It's is quite small, so make sure you reserve the table up front. The owner is Italian and he is importing the ingredients from his home country. The menu in not... More

It was only a Tuesday, but we'd booked a table, as we were a group of eight. We turned up on time, but ended up having to wait in the street as there was only one table that could accommodate us, and it was still occupied. After a while waiting outside (which we weren't particularly troubled by), we were shown... More

i ordered a pizza from here last week. i asked for ham on the pizza and got a sloppy margherita (cheese and tomato) pizza instead. the cheese had fallen half off into the box and it was cold. having also spent thirteen euros (which i would happily do if it had been a pretty decent pizza) i felt pretty cheated.... We were a group of 7 (four kids) and made a reservation a few hours before we arrive (which proved to be essential). The atmosphere was lively and fun, the pizza was absolutely fantastic. The service was great as well. I would say this place comes highly recommended in my opinion. A great value for a great meal.

Firstly be aware that pizza isn't available until 5pm! We actually came here to try out the pizzas that are so fondly reviewed on TripAdvisor... but at 2pm this was not to be. Slightly deflated and altogether starving, we sat down anyway to the lunch time menu. Beginning with the excellent bread (with olive oil and vinegar condiments), and including... More

I am italian and I am always a bit dubious about eating pizza in restaurants especially away from Italy. La perla was just superb. We ordered one pizza and then we couldn't avoid to get a second one. Real tasty food and nice spot to enjoy a pizza in Amsterdam

i certainly didn't expect anything fancy, but i did at least expect the pizza to be good - it wasn't; it was mis-shapen, and burnt in places primarily due to a lack of topping ..... it even lacked basic flavour and seasoning and above all, was tough! no chilli oil or similar on the table salad forgotten until the pizza...
