We went there not knowing it was part of the Starwood Hotel chain. We had seen it the night before just walking around and decided to go back. The prices were more than we had anticipated, but the food and the service definitely made up for it. Off the beaten path, so it's quiet as well, but not "snobby".

We had visited the hotel during the day as part Amsterdam open gardens weekend and decided it would be nice to eat there. I suppose we should have checked where our table would be not realising that this restaurant was separate. We did arrive 15 minutes late but we needn't have worried as the length of time for the meal... More

I invited my parents for my dad's 65th birthday and although They have had some good food in their lives, They rated this as exceptional and very elegant. The waiter who knew about the location placed is in a separate, slightly elevated part of the restaurant with canal views and treated us with a first class chocolate cake, all free... More

The food was very good although not exactly what was ordered (well done steak even though asked for medium rare; asked for egg white omelet for breakfast-served with yellow). Very friendly and polite staff. Clean and appealing restaurant.

We had breakfast and dinner here and loved the delicious variety of offerings, helpful staff and beautiful views out the windows. Some gluten-free choices, they fully understood the need to take the concern seriously.

When we walked in, we were immediately struck by an ambiance of calm, elegant, good taste. Just the presentation of the bread and butter on an olive board, and wooden bowl, presaged good things to come! We had a light lunch of delicious quinoa salad, and the tomato/watermelon gazpacho (unique and absolutely delicious) accompanied by guacamole and toasts, and a... More

So, after a longer than anticipated wait for the table, we sat down to...not much. No intro from server. Table that sat after us was served beverages before us. Still and sparkling water were confused and it continued from there. Then sparkling poured into existing (incorrect) still water. Wine was uncorked with no finesse. When asked for cork it was... It did not get off to a good start. No bread on our table...long wait and no nibbles. Then ......delicious dinner. Wonderful food, so fresh, so everything! My rare cooked tuna for the mains was the best ever with a slightly salty crust. My grown up daughter's medium rare steak was excellent. A lovely room, tables well spaced. Good service.... More

I have just returned from my fifth time in Amsterdam, staying once again at my favourite hotel, Hotel Pulitzer. For some reason I had never previously dined at the hotel’s in-house restaurant, Keizersgracht 238. Based on my experience last Sunday lunchtime, I won’t be making that mistake again. How can a hotel that has such high standards have a restaurant... More
