Watched the Netherlands-Costa Rica WC match at this little eetcafe in Amsterdam. Small but great service. Bitterballen highly recommended and the portions of the entrees are huge. Nice authentic Dutch food in the midst of non-descript Italian/Pizza, Greek, and steakhouse fare.

We read about Stoop and Stoop on Tripadvisor and tried it in our April 2014 visit based on the reviews. It is a smaller place and very busy. We went for an earlier dinner hoping to beat the crowds but it was busy. We were seated promptly. They only had two people serving the entire restaurant but they covered it... More

Sourced this from TA and proved to be a good choice. Went back 2 nights in a row. Cosy and intimate venue. Reasonable choice including dutch options. Food was presented and tasted really well with the dutch beefsteak perfectly cooked. Staff very friendly and accommodating.

Traditional food and very good - hard to come by in the Centre of Amsterdam! Definitely worth a visit and is very reasonably priced! Good steaks :) always a good sign when the locals eat there.

We went here on our last evening after a week in Amsterdam. It was recommended by another restaurant (who we had visited the previous evening). We had to wait to be seated but well worth the wait. Most amazing food, I had salmon. Service was excellent all the time and the apple pie was out of this world!

We were enticed the night before but walked on. Thank god we returned the night after. It was busy early evening which is always a good sign and had to wait at the bar but which was a good opportunity to watch the food go past and the staff at work. My daughter G had a big goats cheese salad,... More

Great atmosphere, always busy and good food at reasonable prices. Went there every evening three nights in a row. Hasn't changed from when we went there 10 years ago!

On previous trips to amsterdam I'd always been keen to try eating here, but never got round to it. Finally went this time and was a bit underwhelmed. Nice restaurant and atmosphere, decent service, but I didn't think the food was anything special. It was still an enjoyable meal but I probably wouldn't rush back.
