Listed in many paces as a great place for breakfast or lunch. Don't believe what you read, the food is barely average, a waste of a great location in " de 9 straatjes".

There's nothing fancy about Lunchcafe Nielsen. They offer a relatively limited menu of sandwiches and egg dishes. They are licensed but your only beer choice is Heineken by the bottle. We had a good lunch - chicken club sandwich, chicken and bacon sandwich and a brie sandwich. Service was efficient. Remember to go to the bar to pay your bill.

When we stop coming here for breakfast, it's because we have left Amsterdam. Try the "tosti." The servers are casual, and they seem to enjoy their jobs.

This small unpretentious cafe served us for breakfast not once, or twice but three days in a row because it served good food quickly and for an affordable price - a difficult combination to find in a restaurant in Amsterdam. We are not not talking 5 star but it was clean, well run, with pleasant polite fast service and good... More

Breakfast at our hotel was outrageiously expensive so we hunted for another place to have breakfast. This place was clean, pleasant, and serves a good basic breakfast for a reasonable price. I

We popped into this Cafe' and it was a great find. They have some amazing looking apple pies. We had tuna and blt sandwiches and a tuna salad. The ingredients were fresh and the bread was delicious. Service was friendly and quick. Would definitely return.

Stopped by for breakfast and enjoyed their fresh fruit and coffee. Good prices and service. Coffee was the best we've had.

Went to Café Nielsen twice in one week. They offer a nice breakfast special with eggs, toast, fruit, fresh squeezed oj and a hot beverage all for 9 Euros. It is a cute little place and convenient to The Hotel Pulitzer. It's in the 9 streets and worth a visit.

My Husband and I were on Berenstraat to eat at Pancakes! across the street, this turned out to be a disappointment so we decided to have our after meal coffees elsewhere and came across the lovely Cafe Nielsen. The staff are friendly and the service fast, it has a beautiful warm cozy feel - great with the snow outside. I... More

If you're looking for a bite to eat, a coffee or tea and place with free wi-fi stop by this place. It's a clean and comfortable establishment. Support the local businesses!
