Like homemade!

Great, authentic greek food, tasted like homemade. Nice atmosphere and very good service. We were looking for a place to eat, took a chance and weren´t disappointed! Not a "fancy" place which only makes it so much better! Reasonable price too for being Amsterdam..!

We accidentally found this place on our way back to our hotel. All other places were loud with pictures of their food...this had their menu outside with English also The inside was warm clean and so inviting with candles on the table. We had an appetizer, salad and then split the beef kabobs...2 beers and total bill was 36 usd.... More

This place doesn't look particularly special from outside but is welcoming and serves good wholesome Greek home cooking. It's typical of many restaurants nearby in being tiny - perhaps 30 covers at a time - which tend to get very busy between about 7.00 and 8.30 pm. We got the last table on Saturday at 7.45 and many people were... More

Travelling with someone who has been many times before, I followed advice and went for the grilled option. I wasn't disappointed. I chose and enjoyed the most amazing langoustines I have had in a very long time. Accompanied by rice, salad and the usual chips. Accompanied by a bottle of wine sourced from Greece. The meal cooked and served by... More

When I lived and worked in Amsterdam from 1998-2003, this was my neighbourhood restaurant. I ate there on average once a week throughout my stay. The food is good, simple, homely Greek fare. I advise people to choose from dishes that are cooked on the wood-fired grill rather than the more complex dishes such as dolmades or moussaka. Try the... More

Looked ok from outside but inside didn't look clean and once we'd ordered we wished we hadn't as the meals we saw coming up looked bland and unappealing. Ordered taramasalata to start which arrived with French bread!! Not very authentic! Mains were sloppy and badly presented so we didn't bother staying for dessert or coffee. Spent the rest of the... Stumbled on this place after visiting the Anne Frank house, so glad we did. Friendly service, amazing food ( mixed grill and pork stew ) and even brought us a plate of tzatziki on the house to try which was quite unexpected and appreciated! Meal with water was only €35, and we were both quite full, best valued meal we... More

I had to leave without food as there was only one poor vegetarian option, not worth the price. Disappointing...never happened to me before

My family and I ate at the De Twee Grieken in Amsterdam. From the outside the restaurant looks pleasant enough. Inside the restaurant felt unclean, tables were sticky. As for the food, the menu was typical greek fare. We had the Taramasalata tzatziki and olives to start. The taramasalata was ok, the olives were possibly the worst we have eaten,... More

Food is good as Greek almost always is. Cook seems to be real greek-man. Interior is pretty basic and intimate, there is more tables at back side garden.
