The food was ok, not bad, but not worth high praises either. The steak was not very tender and overcooked. Service was a bit slow the day I went since there was only one lady server waiting on all guests. The prices are also on the high side, considering the quality of food. The restaurant was cozy though, and provided... More

The first time we were here, we were looking for some traditional Dutch food. We stumbled across this restaurant. It looked charming and the menu was at a reasonable price. The food turned out to be very good and filling. Now, when we visit Amsterdam, we always try to have at least one dinner here.

Good quality food in traditional Dutch style. The building itself is a fun place to go with very old design and architecture. Close to Dam Square, but not right on the square so its quieter. As with most of Amsterdam, the staff speaks better English than many Americans do.

We had the recommended traditional Dutch meal. Well cooked and beautifully served. The staff spoke excellent English and were very helpful.

Having walked miles looking for an authentic Dutch restaurant we finally found Oud Holland and a bit later wished we had not. Even allowing for how busy they were the service was perfunctory and the food was unsatisfactory. Perhaps we chose poorly but items described as stew or casserole bore little resemblance to what we hoped to get. Have to... More

After walking around for hours looking for a place to have our first meal in Holland, we stumbled, literally, up this place and it seemed to just call us inside. Wow, what a great find. It was late and we were one a few customers inside. Everything on the menu was reasonably priced and provided a great selection. I honestly... More

This traditional restaurant is located at 105 Nieuwezijdsvoorburgwal (close to everything). We were looking for authentic Dutch food, we found it here. I had the pan fried trout. Imagine my surprise when it arrived with the tail, head with eyes intact. Thankfully, my son, the chef was with me. He split the fish open and removed the spine. Snails were... More

You can Find an excellent Poffertjes in it. If you do not know what Poffertjes is, go to the oud Holland and taste it. For sure you'll have an excellent sample of it.

This restaurant is a great place to have traditional Dutch cooking. We ate here twice and had fantastic meals both times. The price wasn't too expensive and the service was quick. The restaurant is very handy to our hotel and we wished we had discovered it earlier during our stay! We would have eaten here all evenings. The food is... More

I've passed this little restaurant on may occasions however this was my first experience of eating there. The waiting staff were excellent making me feel very welcome from the beginning. Good value meals with excellent portions I had the steak which was cooked to perfection with plenty of vegetables and a lovely tasting red cabbage in apple sauce (I think)... More
