Late Night Steak

Me and my three friends arrived at around 11pm after a long day of site seeing. We were seated at a table straight away in a comfortable booth big enough for us all. Even though it was late the restaurant was still fairly busy and full of atmosphere. For starters the four of us ordered bread... read more

Went here on a group budget holiday, ended up eating in Argentine steak houses the whole time. This one was grand, not amazing but sure it's about €9 sure who's complaining. Constantly try and up-sell you with sneaky add ons like, €2 for pepper sauce with your steak and stupid things like that.

We just popped in with no reservation. The restaurant was by far the busiest around which always gives you an indication of the quality. There was such a huge choice of steaks and different sizes we asked what they recommended. We were told the 375gr sirloin was on special and ordered 2 both medium rare. They were cooked to perfection... More

Came here and sat down at a nice spacious table for 4. And then then the couple who were sat at the window left we got forced to move and sit next to the window to make it look like there were more people in the restaurant I guess. Anyway I ordered French fries as a little thing to be... More

Three of us went into Amsterdam and to Argentinos. A warm and friendly restaurant. Great service and absolutely first class beef at very reasonable prices. The meat is the best in town. Not surprising when the owner is from Buenos Aires. I liked the attitude of the staff. The work rate was first class. If the wine list was a... More

The place is nice and it's in the middle of the red light district. Quality of the steak is OK, but the price is excessive in my opinion. Side dishes are not very good. The service is sub-par.

We had a late dinner at Argentinos, a group of three. Opted for the fixed price menu. Steaks were perfectly done and fries were tasty too. Wine is very expensive, the same holds also truth for the whole of Amsterdam.

Go hungry and you will be satisfied with the quality of the steaks, chimuchurri salsa and fresh veggies. Service is fair ( I had more attention from the manager and the young apprentices, than from my server, which was actually good). Again, the steak was wonderful!.

The first restaurant that we ate in Amsterdam. Great deal for 11 euro. Chicken Or steak or rib and salad and fries. The food is yummy. The waitresses are lovely friendly and helpful. It is a cost little restaurant between red light and dam square. I had the chicken it was well cooked and tasty. Beers are not bad but... More

Staying in Red Light District (De Wallen)

Neighborhood Profile
Red Light District (De Wallen)
To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its saucier aspects would mean missing the opportunity to view some of the city’s most picturesque canals, historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples of traditional local architecture – not to mention Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some less salubrious activities drawing the curious to this age-old part of time. Nevertheless, the Red Light District is still a very safe and incredibly fascinating area where at the turn of a corner you can be transported from the dingy glow of modern day neon red to a glorious 16th century Delft blue dreamscape.
