A nice meal, service with a smile

I have passed this restaurant many times and always thought it looked nice. I was so pleased that my impression was correct. Service was quick and efficient, by a pleasant, friendly waitress with a great sense of humor. The food was good, a real value due to the affordable prices. A nice... read more

My husband and I had dinner here on Sunday 5-3-15. The restaurant is conveniently located in a safe neighborhood across from the Stedelijk art museum. A tram line runs in front of the restaurant. The food was very good. I had baked mackerel, saffron risotto, and cooked fennel. The fish came with a few dabs of a sauce with capers.... More

Starters were boring and tasteless, and the chicken we had as main were soaked in butter while the vegetables were boiled to death. Service was slow and they did not pay much attention to their guests.

We walked by Keyzer's this morning and noted it was featuring seafood. Later in the day we made a reservation which it turned out was not necessary but we were nicely greeted and seated. The wine list arrived but it took some time to place our order. We selected a rose from our region in France. We ordered the same... More

The service is very friendly, if a bit on the slow side. The menu however, is rather uninspired. Perhaps works well for the older crowd who is used to frequenting this venue before going to the neighbouring Concert Gebouw but I would argue that if they do not experiment a bit more they will soon be a thing of the... We wandered in here after a visit to the Rijksmuseum and what a gem for a simple, cozy lunch! The ambience is warm and inviting, it was packed with locals (we were the only English speaking table in earshot), and the food was delicious! I had the croquettes with wasabi mayo, my dad had a burger and my mom a... More

We arrived a couple of hours before a concert and with no reservation; they said they could seat us in 15-20 minutes and did so just after 20 minutes or so. We enjoyed a glass of cava at the bar as we waited and really enjoyed the atmosphere, and environment and the some people watching. When seated we were attended... More

Three of us shared staters and main course; all outstanding! The service was great with lots of attention to details. Quiet nicely appointed dining areas. French food at its finest with generous portions.

Excellent French food in a beautiful setting! Good wine list, large portions for this type of dining, interesting and always changing menu. Classic French flavors, lots of seafood choices, everything is always beautifully presented. Since my first visit in 2008 I have been to Brasserie Keyzer many times, I can't imagine going to Amsterdam and not dining here at least... More

My first lunch at Brasserie Keyzer was in 2012 and quite unplanned...this one was Yuletide 2014 and planned having told my friend traveling with me how much I enjoyed the last time. Brasserie Keyser is a modern bistro with good food and a good wine selection so even a bar experience is memorable. Service can be uneven...but always pleasant. We... More
