Very good but..

Service was good and food was good. We found the menu card plus the mini blackboard with the 3.4.5. courses menu but also things not included in the course menu more confusing than helpful. But there was something missing. We felt it was the too strong lighting and the decoration inside which... read more

We were very excited about going for dinner to this restaurant on Xmas. We had inquired beforehand if they could accommodate vegetarians and pescatarians, by email Unfortunately, we were served pork rillettes and rabbit ravioli. And maybe other stuff that had animal products that we had indicated we don’t eat. They did take the rillettes and rabbit ravioli away when... More

I love eveything about this place, it is already around for a long time and that is for a reason: excellent and well prepared food. I am never disappointed when I eat here.

A passionate cook, first explaining the menu and later telling us about the exciting things on next month's menu. French rural kitchen, but then to the nth level. The marbré de foie de canard et langue de veau is to die for, it easily outshines attempts at the same dish in France itself. Wild duck as an entrée and a... More

We had the best time at this little restaurant. The staff is all very friendly. The chef (yes, the chef) takes your order, and I highly recommend getting the Surprise menu, and just letting the chef choose his best for you. Everything was very delicious, and was better French food than we had in Paris on the same trip. The... More

My wife and I had one of the best meals ever.Service is really good, the chef explains the specials himself and nothing was too much trouble. The food is right up there with some Michelin starred places I have been to recently. I wish this place was in my home town!

If you want to experience French Country-style cooking at it's best: look no further. Chef Ben will cook the best dishes you normally only find in France. The staff is pleasant and will take of you wishes but sometimes is a bit too busy to do it all at the right time. Never mind the atmosphere and ambiance together with... More

We did not know this restaurant but were here with a local, who comes here regularly. We opted for the set entrees, and as main dishes veal kidneys, fish from the Albert Cuijp and the coq au vin. For dessert we opted for the chocolate dessert and icecream. Everything was fresh, tasteful and deliciously cooked. Staff friendly and helpful with... More

Staying in De Pijp

Neighborhood Profile
De Pijp
Bustling Albert Cuypstraat serves as the main drag through De Pijp and the location for Albert Cuyp Market, the largest and most famous of Amsterdam’s many outdoor markets. Beyond this sometimes-frantic thoroughfare, tiny lanes beckon urban explorers in search of the latest trends and hidden gems. Nearly half the residents living in De Pijp are foreigners and a good number of them are students. Here you'll find a multitude of ethnic restaurants, great cafes and bars, and a brilliant array of locally owned shops, all catering to a broad range of budgets and tastes.
