Unassuming Chinese Restaurant that hits the spot

A nice surprise in a very touristy part of Amsterdam, Taste of Culture is an unassuming Chinese restaurant that I have visited twice and both times, I was satisfied. This last visit, noticed that the clientele was about 80% Chinese so that was a good sign. I enjoyed the fish in soya and honey... read more

This place is at the Leidseplein area which is a very touristic area but prices are reasonable.I advice you not to order too much because portions are so big,you can not eat all.Symphatic and very fast service deserve a good tip.

This restaurant is mentioned in a top-10 of restaurants in Amsterdam. To be honest, it is not that good! It is just an average Chinese restaurant. It is definitely a more traditional Chinese restaurant than all those Chinese-Indonesian restaurants in the Netherlands, but it is just not that good. I had better Chinese food, even in Amsterdam! My wife is... More

Come with free start soup (super nice) and free desert soup. Large portions and delicate taste! Personal favorites: Mei cai kou rou (pork), Bi feng tang niu liu (beef).

I was told that this is the best and most authentic Chinese restaurant in Amsterdam... so, I had to try it with my Shanghai friends. They, nor me, were truly impressed with the taste of the food. The portions are big, the quality is OK, but the dishes miss the finishing touch that would make them really authentic and tasty.... More

Nondescript from outside but venture in to be rewarded with authentic food. Try two kinds of bean curd with seafood but it is a meal in itself. Portions much larger than UK Chinatown restaurants so order accordingly. Unpretentious good food

Gyoza are very, very good. However, the rest was so-so. Not the best atmosphere, VERY SMALL BATHROOMS (as everywhere in Holland I think;)). I have tried their seasonal veggies and it was the best. The 1/2 chicken was alright- except they gave us all of the bones and it turned out to be very little meat. I wouldn't go again.

It took me some time to convince my friend to walk into the restaurant. As it doesn't look promising from outside. However, we had to go there again and again because the food is nice. We also went there with Chinese friends and they said it is quite good as well.

This little hole in the wall restaurant was the most authentic Chinese food I've ever had! It was delicious with the perfect amount of spice. The space isn't impressive but the food is worth it.
