Great Traditional Dutch Beef Stew.

Charming place, very close to Hotel Pulitzer (where we were staying) and Anne Frank Haus. We wanted typical Dutch food and it delivered. I highly recommend the beef stew which comes with large plate of vegetables carrots, mashed potatoes, beets, brussel sprouts, green beans and an entire dish of... read more

Nothing startling on the menu, pretyy standard eurofare in terms of choice but served in a really nice atmosphere, very well prepared, huge portions (go 1 meal for 2?), very good housewine - we thoroughly enjoyed it after a long drive from the UK. Been here before a long time ago. Really recommenmd it as an honest, friendly, comfortable and... More

Our hotel staff suggested this restaurant when we asked for a Dutch restaurant with modest pricing. We experienced all this and more: local atmosphere, charming decor, friendly staff, tasty cuisine, nice seating. This was our last night in Amsterdam. The staff were unhurried and courteous. We were completely satisfied.

Nothing wrong here but equally not the most exciting place you'll eat in Amsterdam. Went early so it was relatively empty which robbed it of a bit of atmosphere, but it was filling up as we left. Service was friendly, attentive and obliging. My ribs were excellent, but my friend's steak a bit on the tough side. Nice if you're... More

The place is really cozy and the location is fairly central. We were three people and we ordered - Suddervlees naar "Oma's Recept", really really good. One of the best dishes ever. - Baked salmon trout. Definitely good, a bit "standard" and not outstanding as the suddervlees, but it was worth the money - Cordon bleu, far from a positive... More

We easily got a table for two on the night at about 8pm. We enjoyed tomato soup and mushrooms on toast for starters and Cordon Bleu for mains, which were all very good. Service was fast and friendly and there was a nice atmosphere.

Another excellent recommendation for dinner in Amsterdam. We enjoyed a 3 course dinner including wine. The seafood courses were perfectly prepared. The service was very helpful and complemented the dinner well. The food was very tasty. I ws surprised at the bill being very reasonable considering the food quality and the house wine. It was for us a great value .... More

We were looking for a traditional Dutch restaurant and found it here by chance. We arrived at 7:30 on a Tuesday evening and it was packed. The food was excellent, fresh and well cocked. Service was slow with the crowded room and tables were tight. It was also very warm. However, the whole experience so so good.

Saw this restaurant mentioned in one of the freebie hotel magazines and decided to give it a visit.....we were very glad we did! It's a busy place and only 2 staff doing all the waiting and bar, but they're extremely efficient and friendly and you're not left hanging round for ages waiting to get served....(some upmarket restaurants in UK could... This restaurant was recommended to us because of its proximity to Hotel Pulitzer, and it did not disappoint. It has a small-ish, intimate atmosphere, and it was very busy the evening we were there. Nonetheless, service was prompt, and my husband and I were able to carry on a conversation at normal speaking volume. Our food was very good, though... More
