Description: A little background about us….La Margarita, Mexican Cafe Restaurant, by the regulars just called “the Mexicans!” has been a landmark restaurant for more than thirty years. Full of Mexican warmth, buzzing with a crazy Latin atmosphere, it really is hard to believe you are in the centre of Amsterdam, yet here , you can let your imagination go wild and enjoy many specialties from the Yucatan region of Mexico. Various delicious dishes like Fajita's, Taco, Burrito's, Tournedos Ranchero and Marinated Niños Eros adorn our menu. Naturally we also serve Mexican beers, Margaritas and other cosmopolitan cocktails to enjoy with these dishes. You can end your dinner with a tasty dessert or, for the true enthusiast, a strong Mexican coffee with Kahlua, Tequila and Cream! But, La Margarita is more than just a restaurant, it’s so flexible! Atmospheric enough to provide a perfect cosy dinner for two yet supple enough to cater for weddings, other receptions and groups of 10 or more at a table. A maximum of 98 people can be catered for “a la carte” if you wish, or, you can choose from a selected menu to suit your needs. We also offer a varied monthly menu from just 19.50 Per Person. For people requiring a gluten-free diet, we always have at least ten dishes on the menu that are gluten free. If you fancy a dish on the menu, which is not gluten free, our chef will gladly adjust the ingredients for you. To find us – Our address is Langebrugsteeg 6, between Rokin and Nes.

If you are looking for a great typical Colombian meal, you should definitely hit this joint. It is easy to find, and they also offer other types of cuisine. I will definitely recommend to try "la bandeja paisa", it is delicious! Also, the staff is really friendly and welcoming!

Four of us we searching for a Mexican restaurant near Rambrantplein and found this hidden jewel! We just loved the taste. Although it was not as spicy as we would have liked, but the taste was too good. I will highly recommend La Magarita and will suggest to sit at the terrace when the weather is good.

Can't really say anything about this that is positive except the nice terrace out the back, even then the drinks were awful so we didn't really enjoy it! Poor service and a rude waiter! Food was actually the worst least fresh Mexican ever eaten! Would really avoid at all costs

First of all the food was okay. Not great, but okay at Amsterdam (=relatively expensive) prices. But... we visited this place a couple of times in the past: great owners (two Mexican guys). This used to be a great restaurant! One of the best Mexicans in Amsterdam. This time: management and staff were different. In fact: they were still looking... More

We booked in advance and suggest this is the way to go as it was a busy place. Staff were very friendly, and very helpful and knowledgable for a member of our party who is on a gluten free diet. The food was excellent.

Whenever I get a hankerin' for TexMex food in Amsterdam, I head to La Margarita. This place has no pretensions about serving haute Mexican cuisine; rather it's simple Mexican fare delivered in an often boisterous dining room and bar. The food is delicious. I can recommend the Nachos du Lujo and the soups as starters, and the Chilaquile and Enchiladas... More

We recently stopped here for dinner while on vacation in Amsterdam. My husband grew up in Jamaica so we thought we would give it a try. It was very good. I would certainly recommend La Margarita if you are looking for a little Carribean and/or Mexican lunch or dinner.

We had nachos as starter, 6.90€ for a quite small plate (less than 20 chips) and the main course was bland. paid slightly more than 25€ p/p. There are much better places in a'dam.

Don't get me wrong here, this place has great food. But we waited over 1 hour for some enchiladas. I know a encilada takes about 10 minutes to make. They didn't have everything on the menu either, so make sure you don't order something out of the ordinary. But all in all, if you got the time to wait, choose... More
