Description: Within strolling distance from Theatre Carré there is the stage of Hans Verbeek and Igor Sens, the two culinary artists from restaurant Utrechtsedwarstafel. Their performance is a ballet of wine and food. Indulge yourself with the culinary compositions by Igor the Chef and the wines of Sommelier Hans. An adventurous evening awaits. The commercial concept of Utrechtsedwarstafel is straightforward and easily explained. Igor purchases the freshest produce of the season and subsequently composes fine delicate dishes for a multiple course menu. Just mention the number of courses you wish to eat.For every menu Hans creates the perfect wine arrangement. Every course is accompanied by the right match of wine. However, the arrangements vary with respect to the complexity and quality. The bare essence of Utrechtsedwarstafel is that every course is a fertile marriage of wine and food. Its fruits bear your palate a sheer joy.

We booked three days in advantage via their web page and already got into a friendly e-mail exchange with Hans. The 'surprise menu' turned out to be delicious course by course and the recommended wine was each time a perfect match. We truly enjoyed the evening and join many others in recommending this restaurant as a special place.

What a wonderful restaurant. Choose between 3, 4 or 5 courses and wine separately or with the courses. We chose 4 courses with the superior wine option. It's a menu suprise, so no choice, but each course was absolutely wonderful. Beautiful tuna and crab, veal and divine kiwi chocolate. The wines were breathtaking, a wondeful Soave (would never have believed... More

Wonderful surprise 5-course menu with wines was just perfect way to start a holiday in Amsterdam. Guys were real professional, without being stiff. We got also good tips for the city.

Went to this restaurant in a party of 9. The service and attention was superb and the food was a amazing. The wine was perfectly matched with the food for each course. You don't get to choose the food or wine but what is created is wonderful. With all of us eating the same and being a surprise it really... More

Nice and comfy atmosphere. Service friendly and effective. Excellent wine and food matching capability. Price value ratio in balance. Food is tasty and always comes with a little extra twist to it. Choice between high end to low end wine food matching, even the low end wine is good. I take the middle ground and was very happy with the... More

Been there repeatedly, great food every time - you can tell chef what you don't like, or are allergic to, but the menu is set, with two levels of wine to chose from a different glass of wine with each course. Attention to detail, charming chef & sommelier - popular so need to book

On a cold and rainy night in Amsterdam, my colleague and I booked the Restaurant de Utrechtedwarstafel, quite by chance as our first two restaurant choices were fully booked. Lucky thing for us! This place was fantastic. The restaurant is a small, neatly decorated space which seats maybe 30 people at most, with candle light added a charming ambience. The... More

It's in a nice part of Amsterdam, where you find this nice and cosy restaurant with set menu and excellent wine to accompany the choice the owners have made. No big menu's just mention what you like and don't like. At € 75 pp not cheap, but you really get what you are paying for!
