We were a party of 8, had a fantastic meal, taking note of our preferences. Hans and Igor could not have been more helpful. Would make the trip to amsterdam just to eat with you again. Highly recommended.

I have been here twice in the last couple months for the four course meal and both times have really enjoyed it. It is definitely expensive, but I think its really worth the price as youre paying not only for the meal but also the experience.
The restaurant is small and has a very cozy ambiance - great for dates,...

I've come here eight times over several years. It is expensive, but well worth the experience. Food is always fantastic with excellent wine paired to it. food is always unique and delicious. I only wish they had a frequent diners card to encourage more regular visits.

I was a little worried about the "surprise" menu---I have become a pickier eater every year since I turned 45---finally decided that I don't have to eat stuff just because everyone else likes it. Take goat cheese. Please! I just hate it. And I really could live in a world without mushrooms and capers. But I digress. We went to...

I'm a real foodie, have worked in cafes and bars as a youngster and prize myself as knowing what a good restaurant is and what isn't. Having lived in Amsterdam for 20 years and benn to countleess restaurants, I have to say The Utrechtse Dwarstafel is my favourite by far. It's unpretentious, yet stylish with a good ambiance. The cook,...

Even though are favorite way of dining is to let the chef decide what to cook and the sommelier which wines to serve with it, we had never yet tried Utrechtsedwarstafel because of the pricetag (between 65 euros for 3 course with basic wines and 125 euros for 5 courses with premium wines) and mixed reviews on Dutch leading restaurant...

I first ate at Utrechtsedwarstafel in 1999—it immediately became my favorite restaurant in the world. Since then, I make sure eat there every time I visit Amsterdam.
At first, I was worried that Hans and Igor wouldn't be able to repeat their initial success. I need not have worried; the food is consistently excellent, the wines outstanding, and the pairings...

Have eaten there three times and every time was excellent - good food excellent wine - chef & sommelier both come to individual tables to describe with enthusiasm the individual dishes and wines. There is a fixed menu which can vary with exclusions for vegetarians, dislikes, allergies etc. A different wine is supplied with each course. A real hidden treat.
Dear ButcombePete. Thank you for sharing you experience on TripAdvisor. It is great to see that you did enjoy your visit to our Restaurant and we hope to see you again soon!
