I'm sure the restaurant is called Kooningvan Siam, but nevertheless, the address is the same so I must be talking about the same great place which we found by chance. I'm fairly confident in saying that this was the best Thai I've ever had, and the portions were extremely generous - for mains we had a pad thai and a... More

Since being in Western Europe, I'd been craving spicy food. So when we saw a Thai restaurant with the word "Thai" written in narrow red peppers, we had to go in. We both ordered pad thai, and we enjoyed watching the chefs cook our meal from our table. When we received our steaming plates of noodles, we also received a... More

We stopped in for dinner on a particularly rainy night. At 7pm, we were the only table in the place for nearly half an hour and received wonderful service! The staff was helpful and prompt, our bottle of wine delicious and the Siam Special appetizer sampler was delicious! The portion was a good size and enough to split between two... More

I love Thai food, I absolutely love it. I eat it as often as possible and could have it for breakfast, lunch, dinner, tea and supper daily with no trouble whatsoever. I also love the Red Light District of Amsterdam and have just spent a lovely Saturday evening with my husband in a cosy, smoky, candle-lit little bar which we... More

We were recommended this place by a friend so went here specially, but it's in a good location anyway close to some nice brown bars and tourist attractions. We tried a mixed starter and a few main dishes and they were very tasty, with good quality ingredients - the kitchen was open and the staff spoke English so it was... More

We've eaten at this restaurant about 5 or 6 times over the past dozen years and it had been a reliable Thai choice in the heart of Amsterdam's historic center. Eating there last week, however, we discovered that their menu had changed and, although still purporting Thai choices, the dishes are fundamentally Chinese with an attempt at added heat. The... We went with a large group (14) and they were able to accomodate us on their top level, so it was private, which was nice. The service was nice, and he suggested a great menu for our group. When you have a group that large they will not accomodate ordering from the menu, but we did have we enjoyed immenseley.... More

My boyfriend and I are on vacation in amsterdam and yesterday we entered this restaurant without knowing that it wasn't the one we were actually looking for. Nonetheless, all of the diners were dutch so we saw it as a good sign - and we were defenitely right! It takes ages for the food to arrive (as in all restaurant... More
