At the flower market this busy Indonesian restaurant has very helpful staff explaining the dishes. Meat ones better than the vegetarian sadly , the tofu the least good. Flavours of most dishes v good. Tropical fruit salad pricey but excellent. Narrow range beers ( ie one! )

High food quality, good service, and a quality (though small) selection of wines make this a good bet for a pleasant meal. Prices are reasonable. The fixed price "rice table" menus are a pretty good value.

right on Single, where the flower market is, there is this indonesian restaurant that gives way to a variety of the cuisine in that country, which was formerly under dutch control - if you are an amateur, the samplers they offer = rijstaffel - is a good way to start...

We ate at this Indonesian restaurant in the flower market about 10 years ago and loved it. We had rijstaffel which consisted of about 20 small dishes of increasingly hot and spicy food. This small eatery was owned by a mother and her young daughter. Well, now Mom has retired and the daughter seems to be in charge. She also... More

We ate here tonight, it was Gay Pride and we had not booked but managed to get a table and the service and good was excellent. We have eaten here on several occasions and always enjoyed it. The one time that we were served a starter that arrived cold, the waiter apologised, it was replaced and we were given a... More

I had heard a great deal about the excellent Indonesian food at Sampurna and was determined to give it a try based on the positive reviews received. How wrong I was. I had made an online reservation for 8 pm. When I arrived at 8.15 pm, I was told that the restaurant was full and that I had to wait.... More

Highly recommended by our cruise director, while it was good, not sure it was great. Right next to the flower market- view is not great in evening as the market boards up for the evening. Rice table - we got two diferent versions - vegetarian and also Barrarat - (low end of spicy). Food was very plentiful and interesting, was... More

Land on the terrace of Sampurna any time of afternon to restore your forces with a delicious Indonesian meal. While the endless stream of visitors to the flowermarket passes, you can Watch it all and have delicious sateh, lumpiahs, pangsit and one or two main courses to share. Friendly service, great prices. Sampurna's food is authentic, although I feel they... More

If you are hungry after a long day of walking and touring museums then head over to this place. Their rice plate, the Kuning Rijsttafel, is an abundance of food. You have the rice, then there is beef and chicken skewers, spicy tofu, spicy chicken, some kind of bean sprout tofu dish, a delish sliced beef, soybean mix that reminds... More
