I was attracted by the high number of good reviews this restaurant has and I decided to try it out. We have ordered the most expensive wine they had on the menu (a St. Emillion) which was warm! It was never kept at the right temperature and it was such pitty for such a wine. Moving on we had oysters... More

I travelled all the way from Spain to Amsterdam for my second anniversary with my girlfriend. I was looking for a special restaurant and came across Zaza's. When a booked my table, I asked them to prepare a nice table for us as we were celebrating an special occasion. When we arrived at the restaurant, the best table in the... More

We had tried to book Zazas in advance but they were full however when we went to the restaurant in person they were able to find a table at 9pm as some other diners had finished. I'm glad we did this as it is a really nice restaurant. We enjoyed starters of tuna tempura, main courses of steak and veal... More

Had four courses here on a Saturday night. Scallops, ravioli, cod and a brioche bread and butter pudding. All the courses were good, getting towards Michelin standard, but still a little way to go. Small restaurant, only seats around 20, so would recommend booking well in advance. Service was good, atmosphere was nice and relaxed. Would go again.

For more than a decade Zaza delivers constant high quality food in a lovely setting. The owner Suzy is the nicest host you will meet in Amsterdam. I have dined here many times over the years and have never been dissappointed.

Reviewers race about the service at Zaza's, and cannot complain, it was really friendly. The greeting from the kitchen in the beginning was mouth watering and set our hopes high. For starters my wife had goat cheese terrine, I had scallops, both still very good and prepared in a way that you couldn't easily do at home. The main courses... More

Although a little difficult to find as it is off the normal tourist track, it was well worth the effort in finding it. We had a delicious meal and the staff were very attentive. Would definitely go back if we went to A,sterdam again.

A small, cozy, restaurant in an old part of Amsterdam ("De Pijp"). The food was excellent, the service very friendly, and the wine selection quite adequate. We will certainly return. Easy access with public transportation.

Staying in De Pijp

Neighborhood Profile
De Pijp
Bustling Albert Cuypstraat serves as the main drag through De Pijp and the location for Albert Cuyp Market, the largest and most famous of Amsterdam’s many outdoor markets. Beyond this sometimes-frantic thoroughfare, tiny lanes beckon urban explorers in search of the latest trends and hidden gems. Nearly half the residents living in De Pijp are foreigners and a good number of them are students. Here you'll find a multitude of ethnic restaurants, great cafes and bars, and a brilliant array of locally owned shops, all catering to a broad range of budgets and tastes.
