Without question the best 'patat'!

I don't eat 'patat' often but when I do, I want the best. And the best you can find in Alkmaar at de Voordam called De Vlaminck!

Every thursday, after work, I go to the Voordam to treat myself with a portion frieten, because they are the best in town. No other snackbar or restaurant can compare on their taste, crispynes and sauces.

Considering that we are not from this area, we don't visit Alkmaar that often, maybe 1-2 a year. But if we do visit Alkmaar we make it a point to visit de Vlaminck. Even though there are no seating possibilities within the "frituur" one can sit opposite de Vlaminck and have a nice look at the Grachten of Alkmaar. Our... More

This is a really nice place to get some real fresh fries. They make their own fries from real potatoes (see my picture). The quality and the freshness is the reason why they taste so good. They have a lot of sauces to choose from, i would recommend the 'satésaus' (peanut sauce), really good and strong taste. Prices and portions... More

Fresh homemade Belgium fries. Best I ever had and very addictive. I can't visit Alkmaar without passing by. Fries are made by friendly staff.

Very good fries from fresh potato. Try it with the Belgian mayonnaise. Next to it are public benches, if you like to sit down. Only open during day time (11-19).

It is well known that Dutch and Belgian are good in making fries; however by De Vlaminck I have found the best fries I have ever eaten. When I asked which was their secret, the owner replied "Amore" . It is the passion they poor in what they do. Bravissimi! The place is very small and located in the heart... More

This place cuts their own potatoes and uses limited salt for delicious fries done to perfection in takeaway paper cones with your choice of topping(s). Really tasty!

Poor people at the bordes of the Seine dind't have anything toe at. So they dropped chopped potatoes in a bowl of hot oil. And they liked it: French Fries were born! In Belgium they improved the skill of baking Fries. That is what the Vlaminck ( Dutch for Flanders) does. Hè cuts huis own patatoes. Twice deep fried. You... More
