Oasis after a very long day

Would give this very high marks. Attentive service and wonderful food. The zoervleis was an excellent blend of sweet fruity sour and savory

Fantastic confit de canard, definitely a recommendation. Democratic prices for the delivered quality. Both wine and food are honestly priced. Original desert of ginger and sour cream. Friendly service.

Since my boss, a true Limburger, heard that I was going to Maastricht, he recommended dead on the Zoervleis (Zuurvlees, Sour Meat) from Cafe Sjiek. This is (horse) meat, cured in vinegar and then stewed with a syrup like sauce, creating a sweet and sour combination. And as it turned out, Cafe Sjiek produced the best zuurvlees and we have... A very popular place between the locals. A crowdy and warm atmosphere place, with some large tables which you share with others and give you a chance to meet other people during dinner. Food is tasty, and service is friendly although little bit slowly. Also love their logo on the entrance door, wine glasses and other places. Been their several... More

Highly recommend this place. You'll need a bit of patience getting a seat most times, but once you're in, you're in to win. Great food, wine and service in a lovely, authentic atmosphere.

Very good and tasty food, cosy and nice atmosphere. Make sure you go quite early as there is usually a long waiting queue.

Tasted the local dish, Zoer Vleis, and it was wonderful. The price was reasonable too. Very friendly staff. Was too crowded for our liking but that indicates it is a great place to eat and drink.

Cafe sjiek is in a great location near the center.Very tasty food, nice atmosphere and excellent music.I totally recommend it for both drinks and eat. After 22:30 it turns out in a bar rather than a restaurant.

Creative cuisine and great concept. Overall - perfect local dishes and lovely selected wines for reasonable prices. Although there was very crowded all the time, but I think that is the indication of food quality. Will definitely return though.
