Passed this Café/Restaurant and was immediately caught by the atmosphere, so we popped in for breakfast - unfortunately they only offer a spartanic one: two warm croissants, marmelade and cheese, but the espresso was fantastic. We came back later in the afternoon and the place was already packed. We were kindly asked to wait at the bar, had a beer... More

Wonderful local cooking combined with great local beer and a cozy atmosphere. The onion soup is a meal in itself and the accompanying traditional main dishes were equally good. Prices are quite reasonable. A great relaxing find after a day of wandering streets, stores and Christmas Markets!

During a rather chilly shopping day around Christmas time in Maastrict, my boyfriend and I passed this place and on a whim decided to stop in for a quick lunch. We each ordered soup, he got the pea soup which was delicious, with pieces of smoked sausage in it, and served with bread and a type of parma ham on... More

Stopped in for an early lunch (noon) after reading other reviews. Neat place, and very helpful waiter who translated the menu to English (need to print an English menu!). We had the goulash soup, onion soup and pate plate, with the cheese plate. Fantastic! And the bock beer was excellent! Definitely a great find!

Maastricht is a stylish town, a lovely place to visit... If you can only visit two cities in the Netherlands, make it Amsterdam and Maastricht. Amsterdam is the capital of what used to be - and the spirit still lingers - Calvinist Holland, and a city certainly worth to explore. Instead, Maastricht is the capital of what used to be... More

We enjoyed a lunch in this great restaurant / bar. There were 2 small tables outside and one of them was ours. We tried local food, soervleis and grottesjinke. Both dishes were excellent as well as the service from the staff. Great place to enjoy local food.

I found out about this place online and decided to try it out for a lunch break. It is hidden among shops on Wolfstraat, so I'm not sure if I would have chosen to walk in if I wasn't specifically looking for it. The atmosphere is very cosy and the personnel very friendly, it was a kitchen person who served... More

My partner and I had an early lunch whilst on a brief stop over in town. The venue is lovely and to my uneducated eye looks genuine period decor. The atmosphere is charming, helped by an excellent host who unsurprisingly like most Dutch people spoke perfect English. The other customers were a mixture of what appeared regulars and passing tourists,... More
