Hidden gem in grand cafe setting

A tip given to us from our hotel was to try this place, He was spot on. The four courses we had were absolutely geourgeous. The service was friendly and because of the hot weather we sat outside, the location was quite picturesque. If you are looking at the old pictures some things to note. The street has been cobbled... This is a lovely spot for dinner or snacks. The street scene is so lovely there and if nice, eat outside. Very good frites and salads. Good service too.

We had been advised to avoid eating on the squares in Maastricht if we wanted to find quality restaurants, and this place exactly fitted what we were hoping for. We did not want a swish, formal restaurant with uniformed flunkies, but a cheerful and friendly place with good food. And that's what this place is. We were a group of... More

Every time I go here, this place starts as the underdog. And when I get my dish, I'm always surprised. Great quality for a very fair price. So the fact that you cannot sit outside and that it is on a corner. Ignore it : go in and be surprised.

We've been wanting to try this small, local restaurant for some time and we were not disappointed. Reserving was efficient and they accommodated our request for a table by the window. The team were warm, welcoming and efficient. Our Gin and tonics were impressive and we enjoyed them while making the difficult choice from the well balanced menu. I had... More

We arrived in the early Sunday evening to join our family members who had already arrived ahead of us. We were a group of 13 and so we requested a long(er) table setting, which was no problem and quickly created. We took the three course dinner menu with fish/meat/vegetarian options. The starters were of average quality: bot bad but not... More

Just before going to the Andre Rieu concert we planned to eat something and found ourselves sitting at Le Virage. It says on the outside "eetcafe" but it is certainly more then that. It is a real restaurant with real restaurant menu and service. We enjoyed our dinner and it was very good in quality for both the starters as... More
