De Pauw is my favorite restaurant in Groningen. I go regularly and every time I enjoy the offer. Portions are adequate given the number of dishes, presentation is fantastic, staff is super professional, and the dishes are beyond traditions without being outrageously weird. I really enjoy visiting. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, though if the restaurant is full it... More

Just some pro's and cons (as usual :-)) Pro's • Good appetizer and starter • Loved desert! • Wine was good • Good ambiance Con’s • The main course, pig, was rather raw • The number of bicycles outside, looks like a bicycle parking

My husband and I had a lovely night out. The food (very small portions) was very good. The wine pairing was also a nice addition to our meal. The staff was delightful. We just wish that there was a little more substance to the main dish portion of the meal. Dessert was excellent!

We had a very enjoyable evening with a party of 6. Everything in this place oozes quality, a nice relaxed "patron" serves a very good dinner with fine wines. Restrooms impeccable! Only thing is that after four hours the chairs are not very forgiving..(or is it the age) The trolley is famous and rightfully so, yum!

This restaurant is a staple in Groningen: the starter and dessert trolley and cheese trolley concept is still alive and kicking. The Pauw Menu and the Menu of the Month vary appropriately and offer ecellent value for money. You can mix and match, and the restaurant is very flexible. The staff are friendly and kmnow what they are about. The... More

I hadn't been back for three years but last night in De Pauw we had a terrific evening. The menu 'De Pauw' was delicious, very prettily presented and it was all served with a smile. It was a great pleasure to be back in the place I have so many good memories of.

To be fair, there was nothing that tasted bad. However, the food was extremely basic and simple. Only difference between this and any other restaurant is maybe the nice interior decor and service ( which was really good). Food was.. Mediocre and unoriginal. It is food that I could easily cook up myself minus the fancy presentation and useless decoational... More

We were taken to De Pauw by friends that live in Groningen. It proved to be one of the highlights of our 10 day stay in The Netherlands. The restaurant was lovely and comfortable. The food was excellent. We ate from "The Trolly". This was recommended by our hosts, who had eaten there many times. We were not disappointed, as... More

We used Tripadvisor to find this restaurant, and it was great once again! My husband and I took the three-course dinner for 37 euros, and paid around 90 euros for two including drinks. Everything was very tasty and copious. If it was not so cold in Groningen, we would return there more and would always go to De Pauw!
