Long term fan of the River Inn but never been one for buffet's however decided to try the new mid week buffet on a Thursday evening when we had some family visiting and I have to say it was one of the best dinner experiences I have had for a while - the restaurant seemed very busy however the... read more

Went there for dinner on 28th Feb with family for grans 70th. Food was out of this world, great value and staff were excellent and couldn't do enough to help with cake etc. There was twelve of us and everyone said how amazing the food was. I had the beef strips to start which just melted in your mouth then... More

Why is this place so popular? I was at their carvery yesterday and it was absolutely awful. Everything was cold and the roast beef was so tough it was impossible to eat. Lots of staff on but not one asked if we were satisfied with our meal. When the waitress cleared our table it was obvious that there was a... More

We visit the River Inn quite a lot and have never been disappointed. The menu has something for everyone and is always very nicely presented. Last night we were there with friends for Valentines dinner and again it could not be faulted. The atmosphere is really nice and the staff are always so welcoming and nothing is a bother. If... Visited for lunch with friends and impressed. Staff welcoming and given an option of where we wanted to sit. Waitress explained the soups of the day and then gave us time to sit relax before taking our drinks order and then returned to take our food order. Food was lovely and nice sized portion. Will definately return.

Jason and his team put on a fantastic evening for their guests there was something for everyone from a live band to a pipe band to a dj who played music to cater all tastes. The gryffe suite was very busy so staff were constantly on the move but in great spirits. You would have never been hungry as food... More

If you want a traditional Sunday Roast in this neck of the woods, this is the place to go. They do the Beef all shades from Blood Red to Burnt. You choose!! It's popular so you do need to book.

Lovely little place to eat. Don't judge a book by it's cover. It doesn't look particularly amazing from the outisde and you certainly wouldn't expect the food you receive from the appearance of the restaurant. The food is amazing. I have only been once but i get cravings to go again every other week! Definitly go here for a dinner... More

Very poor service considering there were plenty of staff and restaurant was only a quarter full. The starters were fine, perfectly acceptable scallops and prawns, however after taking our order the waiter then returned and informed us that there was no venison left - four of our party had ordered it. Endless mix ups with drinks followed and the main... More

We have been eating at he River Inn for some years and would have no hesitation in recommending it for lunch or for dinner. Standards are consistently high and the food is always excellent.
