My mom & I visited last weekend & we will be returning for sure! Restaurant itself is quirky & the waiting staff are most pleasant! We started with stuffed vine leaves & artichokes (we shared both plates), which were both so fresh & wow the accompanying salads were delicious. I had the curry for main & mom had the vegetable... The atmosphere and menu were just not my style. The waiter asked us to confirm that we were not vegan, so he knew whether to bring butter with the bread. I'm a meat & potatoes kind of girl, so this was not a comforting start to the meal. However, I suspect that anyone who is vegan or who makes or... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our stop here. Not only was the food very flavorful, satisfying, and creative, but we enjoyed our visit with our server and the chef. We walked around the garden and wagons to take photos, and I even bought a cookbook. Very relaxing and charming place!

Myself partner and 14 year old daughter dropped in for dinner but there was no one at the till so we took a seat. Menu seemed nice and we eventually placed an order for pasta having initially been given someone else's bread. 40 mins later my daughters pasta came out and as she was hungry and we expected ours to... I visited with a group of family and friends. The room was quite nice and bright. As soon as we sat down, things went downhill. Our server seemed either inexperienced or did not care about service. We asked her what was the fish special, as it was not specified on the menu. She replied that the special was the hake.... More

I am extremely sorry the group were unhappy with the service, food, price and of course Hygiene. Although I was not working that night i believe the first problem arouse when the group wished to open their own wine. In most countries in a licensed restaurant this is unacceptable unless previously agreed upon with MANAGEMENT and not floor staff. We... More

I have visited the Phoenix a few times for lunch and dinner and have enjoyed the food and hospitality equally every time. It is a bit out of the way so you may have to make a special effort to go there but worth it for good food and ambience. It is a situated a few miles between Inch Strand... More

6 weeks ago, my friend and I had a wonderful experience in the Phoenix restaurant, which is situated outside Castleisland. Vegetarean at its best. Organic wine. Elderflower cordial, home grown vegetables on site. The service was friendly and efficient, the ambience, inviting and relaxing. A real find.

After two full weeks in Ireland, my wife and I were craving quality vegetarian food and found it at Phoenix. We weren't too hungry but could not refuse to try the great soup and entrees. We ended up buying the cookbook and the recipes are quite good. the decor is straight out of 1960's Haight Ashbury in San Francisco. Definitely... More

My wife and I stayed 6 nights at The Phoenix, ate breakfast there each day, and had 4 dinners. The room was great - comfortable with a view up to the mts., nice shower, and quiet. After driving about on the Irish roads each day, it was wonderful to know we would have a great night's sleep to do it... More
