We were taken here as a guest - restaurant is in the old guild hall and adorned with fantastic works of art donated by former artistic guests.... I sat in front of a Chagall .... I had the veal kronenhalle speciality - slivers of tender veal in a mushroom sauce with Rosti - absolutely delicious. A real treat.

Kronenhalle is the place to be for everyone above 24 years of age. Here you might meet Tina Turner, Udo Juergens or Pepe Lienhard and lots of really famous people. They dine and have drinks like ordinary people. The cuisine offers a mix from Swiss, Italian and other international food. The service is really nice. Ask for Santo - the... More

If you like to taste Swiss traditional food at absolutely top level, this is the place to go. Also, the interior is worth a visit. But, you have to pay for this experience. I was invited and I was glad that I did not have to pay...

in a world of global food chains, franchises and efficient mass dining you get to Zurich hoping to start your day at your favorite Bratwurst stand opposite the St. Gothardt Hotel, only to find it replaced by some characterless sandwich joint... Thank god we still had a 1 O'clock reservation at the Kronenhale restaurant near Bellvue tram hub. . The... More

Off course Kronenhalle is a place to visit: if not because of food, but at least because of interior. It is indeed a little bit like a museum! The caisse machine is dated back to 30-40 ies, furniture is definitely there for decades and you can feel proud of maybe sitting on the same chair as those numerous famous people... More

This restaurant is priced above the usual tourist-focused city centre options. The food is also more straightforward and classic. With a lovely location, interesting interior and solid Swiss food this is a wonderful part of exploring Swiss German culture. Do try the air dried beef for starters and perhaps the veal with rösti for main.

Kronenhalle is a traditional swiss experience with wonderful history and art on display. The food is ok , portions are large and generous , and expensive even in Zurich standards. All traditional meals are available , from Veal in many variations Calf's liver, and specials for the day. Some of the dishes were not presented well, it felt more like... More

This spot is basically a museum with an affiliated restaurant. I came to see this place for the third year in a role and every time the manager (Mr Wyss) of this great awesome place provides a great level of detail regarding the history of the restaurant. It is not only informative but definitely pure fun. So ask for him... More

A venerable, traditional joint. A bit stuffy and a bit seedy but fun. Expensive, large portions just not very interesting or particularly outstanding. Do sit downstairs it is much more interesting - better art better atmosphere.

The Kronenhalle is one of the legendary places in Zurich to hang out and eat. Their bar is famous, too and if you know when you are going, it is worth reserving. A Zunfthaus, it is a great place for people watching (we've seen quite a few of the so-called 'Cervelat Celebreties' there on our visits!), enjoying traditional Swiss food... More
