The Kronenhalle was and still is one of my favourite place in Zurich!
The ambience is just great, lot of great art on the wall, nice clientele and friendly staff (ast least most of them). It is a place to see and be seen with mayn famous People being regulars!
The Food is good, but nothing fancy, just old Fashion...

When I come to Zurich, I have to eat at Kronenhall. The veal in cream sauce is absolutely delicious. I order it with French fries. Nothing more delicious. Its a little pricey but you are in Zurich where everything is really expensive.
If you like food and art ... That's the place! Formal restaurant in the heart of Zurich where you can enjoy an early century atmosphere, excellent food and amazing paintings on the walls. Stay on Swiss classic recipes. Wine list a bit disappointing if you were looking for variety of vintages.
We went to Kronenhalle to celebrate an anniversary, hence only the best was good enough.
The food was just delicious! The US-beef (daily special from the trolley) was impeccable and the Kalbsleberli (veal liver) tender and juicy. From the starters we especially liked the tuna sashimi - excellent quality! The culinary highlight was the Amaretti-Parfait: beyond words, heavenly, the best...

The Zurich Geschnetzeltes is legendary, and so is the beef from the trolley. You do not need to be an art buff to recognise some of the famous paintings, and all the beautiful people...

Like always great food in a unique location with a very professional service and DONT miss the mousse of chocolate as desert. A must!
I hosted a dinner for bank executives at Kronenhalle. We were a large party who obviously would spen a lot. The waitstaff, who are reasonably professional, were cool and matter of fact; impatient that some of us non-Swiss had a hard time understanding the menu. The environment is old world and charming but also quite crowded and noisy. The food...

Stumbled upon this restaurant after checking into the Helmhaus hotel a few blocks away and wanted a fortifying lunch after a long drive. Hadn't realized this restaurant had such a long history as one of the power lunch destinations in Zurich. Beautiful dark wood and green interior with walls covered in original old masters art. I was kicking myself that...

I was flying home after a week-end in Konstanz.I asked the hotel where I could go for a typical Swiss meal in Zurich, and this is where I was recommended.
It is a very old building with lots of art on the wall.It has a very traditional feel to it.The waiters are in white jackets while the waitresses are in black....
