One of the "old classics" of Zurich

Unique place ! Where else can you dine under a Chagall painting ? The food is quite nice for such a place, with a few classic dishes like "Beef Stroganoff" of the "Zürcher Geschnetzeltes with Rösti" Unfortunately the warm welcome has become very poor lately, the new "managers" are highly... read more

No visit to Zurich is complete without a pilgrimage to this grand dame. The atmosphere is old school, the art is original and impressive and the geschnetzeltes and rosti (sliced veal and hash browns) are the items that help keep bring us back. This restaurant was Neiman Marcus' Stanley Marcus' favorite in Europe. The prices are reasonable (by Swiss standards)... More

My wife and I chose Kronenhalle Restaurant for our last dinner in Zurich and we were very glad we did. We found Kronenhalle to be a very warm and very pleasant experience. Our experience was an exceptional one because, not only were we invited to dine, but we were also encouraged to relax and enjoy our dinner. How often has... More

everything in this restaurant exudes art: the bar, the menu, the wine, the food and the walls. The wine with the name of the house, a very good burgundy, combines with rösti, the best I've ever eaten. The service is impeccable.

This restaurant is fantastic, food is good & service excede expectations, wasn't supper king on the entrée I had prawn cocktail but it was quite average. Apart from that it was superb!!

This is probably the place where I tasted the best rosti! Expect a true Swiss fare with impeccable service. As you eat, you will be able to appreciate all the exquisite paintings that adorn the walls of this 90yr restaurant. Let all your senses come alive at Kronenhalle!

The hotel concierge recommended this restaurant. What a disaster we paid 62 Swiss Franc for an ordinary stake and chips eat. The food was not bad but also not good but the price made it unpalatable. It is obviously a tourist trap for wealthy tourists as it costed 243.00 Swiss Francs for two including a bottle of house wine (... More

I waited 9 years to get back to here for another visit and I was worried that perhaps things had changed. Wrong... it was absolutely the most wonderful dining experience of our trip. This classic restaurant serves classic Swiss dishes but also ventures into modern day cuisine as well. My choice was the veal steak (truly veal, not beef) with... More

Very old, formal and high end restaurant close by the lake. The place is expensive and the price of viewing of their art collection is factored in the food. Swiss food, good but not great. Dining these days has become casual and informal. This place sends you back to the sixties and it revels in its style. The service is... More

Food and Service is totally ok, but just nothing to remember. I dont understand why its so famous. I guess its more because of the history of the restaurant then of the food. Food is technically good prepared but there is no soul in it.Nothing i would recommend as a special experiance.
