I am originally from NYC where folks can be pretty snobby about their pizza. I am usually not the biggest fan, but Taverne's pizza was spectacular. Beautifully baked thin crust sweet tomato sauce and salty mozzarella. My husband and I ordered the Taverne pizza which also had roasted eggplant on top and we simply devoured the pie. The owners were... More

Before we reach Zurich, we had heard recommendations on how to save money as the country is very expensive to travel. We were even planning to live on bread from Coop and Migros. Thank God, I found Taverne from Tripadvisor. After reading the reviews, we decided to give it a try. A local we met while asking for directions to... More

I am italian and i can say that this restaurant offers an amazing italian food! The pasta is awesome and the pizza is very good! I brought my girlfriends here to have dinner together and they simply loved it! We also got a little present from the restaurant owner for Christmas: a small balsamico bottle! So nice of him! I... In only had meat, which is not the ideal dish to judge a restaurant from - in fairness, the Pasta dishes looked a lot better than my Scaloppine, which were nothing special. I ordered a side of cime di rapa (as the Fave were not really available as a side dish) but I ended up unable to eat them: they... More

I ordered by phone a pizza Prosciutto to take away and it was ready in 10 minutes. The pizza was beautifully cooked, the dough was very thin and with a good taste. The amount of ham was one of the greatest I have ever seen on a restaurant pizza and they even put green olives on. Prices are in line... More

I have been to the Taverne over a dozen times for business lunches. Their service and food is consistently on a very high level at a moderate price. Consequently, it is advisable to make a reservation as it is always well patronized. The staff is extremely professional, friendly and efficient even under high pressure. The typical Italian food is as... More

I have been looking for real tasting italian pizza in Zurich for a while, then I found this thanks to TA and since that day pizza equals Taverne da Angelo for me. Antonio is the Portuguese guy who will serve you speaking perfect Italian, he works there together with Angelo (the owner) and the business of this place is real,... More

Situated a couple of tram stops north of Wiedikon rail station, this cozy restaurant seats around 30-40 people. The service was very prompt and friendly (in either Italian or German language) and the food is reasonably priced (Zurich is not cheap for any food when compared to other European cities) The food is excellent, traditional Italian trattoria style food, like...
