Surreal, but good

The Belvoirpark Restaurant is a bit of a strange place; it is a school for students who want to work in the hospitality industry and as such it has a few funky things about it. I'll echo Sasprus - "The food is really excellent: the US beef steak was one of the best in my life. Location and ambience are good as well." (Actually, much better than good! It's in a park.) "Really would recommend both for business lunch and romantic evening. "The only disappointment is a service done by students - should be improved... More

This place is great if you want to dine traditional Swiss food with a modern reinterpretation in a 1900 manor setting. As this used to be the house of Alfred Escher (check wikipedia to learn about him), you will like the atmosphere only if you like carpeted floors, paneled walls and the old villa charm.

The staff were a little over attentive but our food was very good and my wife, who's 30th birthday we were celebrating was presented with a delicious birthday cake which we took away with us.

Visited here on two consecutive days. the ubiquitous (for Zuerich) veal in cream sauce was served on day one and the same but with beef on day two. But the cooking was excellent and the service friendly and efficient. the only give away that the staff are under training was a minor mishap with outing the wine. Restaurant is in... More

very nice location and friendly staff, the food was very well presented and though the establishment is positioned as a hotel / catering school in reality it is a highly professional restaurant. Would definitely go back

This restaurant is where trainees from the Hotel School showcase their trade. I went here 15 years ago with my wife and my rating was 4-star. This year, I went with a larger party from work and was very disappointed. FOOD : Disappointment all-around the table. My fish portion (Sea Bass in salt crust) was tiny and had bones and... More

As a training facility for hotel staff it can at times feel like "everybody wants a go" given the sheer number of different people who attended to us through the course of the evening, though you will be waited on by a core trainee, despite this I found the service to be of a very good standard. We went on... More

As a training facility for the hotel school next door, the service and execution is usually by the book, but may vary a bit depending on the class. The location in the old Escher villa in Belvoirpark makes for an exceptional setting, specially on a nice summer day. Probably the best value for money among upper-end restaurants in Zurich. For...
