The Dinner was from out Team (work) and the chef paid, so it was perfect for me. In relation to Züris prices, the food is not way more expensive than usual (80 Franks including entre main desert). Its a really beautiful room upstairs, which is probably original (restored) from the traditional Zunfthaus and has a perfect view over the Limmat... More

When we got to Zurich, first thing we wanted was to have a proper local beverage and we definitely got it there that day. We chose that place based on the fact that it is sitting right on the street and only feet away from the Limmat River. It is a great spot to people watch as well as to... More

The Zunfthaus zur Zimmerleuten, Carpenters' Guildhall, occupies the historical Red Eagle House on the bank of the river Limmat in Zurich. The building was burned down in 2007 and the restoration took several years finally reopening the restaurant in 2010. Traditional Swiss German food, plain and simple, yet tasty, like Zürcher Geschnetzeltes, thin strips of veal stewed with cream and... More

This is a very traditional restaurant, a famous guild house. The restaurant burnt down (I think in 2009), and has been totally rebuilt in the same old style. Service is very attentive, beyond standard. the view obviously onto the river Limmat and the old town of Zurich is just marvellous. The food was excellent, and on the pricy side, but... More

We stopped by the restaurant after a long walk in the sun. From the moment we sat down I was so impressed with the waiter who told us he was only an apprentice. But he made us so welcome and relaxed by offering sausages, lager and a brief history of the building and the guild. And despite our inquisitive hesitations,... More

I found information about this restaurant in Zurich city guide and decided to have dinner there. I tried zürigschnätzlets and rösti and it was very-very good in comparison with other cafes in Switzerland where I tried such dish before. The service was perfect: waiter explained me differences between menu choices, gave advice about the beer, allowed to change table. Prices... More

This restaurant is in the old city district of Zurich right across the bridge from the Fraumunster church. It has a great view of the old city and the channel in the evenings. The building was partially destroyed in a fire in modern history and during the reconstruction a wall painting which was hidden behind a wall was uncovered. The... More

The property's address, "Limmatquai", means we are here in the heart of Zürich. Coming here and reading the restaurant's menu (displayed outside) it is confirmed that the city is expensive. But take care to read instead the menu (displayed outside as well) of the "Küferstube und Terrasse" (ground floor, inside or outside) and you will find the prices are much... More

One has to accept that dining out in the centre of a major European financial hub will not be cheap. Having said that I can thoroughly recommend the Zimmerleuton Zunfthouse. When not a restaurant this is the headquarters and meeting house for the Guild of the Zimmerleuton and on this particular weekend is full to bursting with members and guests... More
