We went to Zeughauskeller for a dinner after walking the commercial street of Banhofstrasse. The restaurant offers some of the main dishes of Swiss kitchen. We had the shredded veal with mushrooms ala creme and rosti/rice. Rosti is a common Swiss fried side made of grated potatoes. It was very delicious. They also serve snitzel and nice wine and beer.... Despite being in a very touristy, expensive location, this restaurant cost no more than what I would expect to pay in any other restaurant in Zurich, and was actually a fun experience. Apparently a local festival had just started and every 20 minutes or so musicians playing brass instruments would come in, play music and then exit. The food was... More

My Swiss friend chose Zeughauskeller for my last dinner in Zurich. I really liked it, they serve all Swiss typical food like bratwursts. I chose the steak tartar and it was very very good, served with salad. We sat on a table outside and had a lovely summer dinner. The service was OK, nothing memorable but OK.

Dined here with a friend. Traditional Swiss fare. Hearty, hearty, hearty food. Had some amazing pumpkin soup and the mayors sword. Steak in a sword. It was pretty good. The atmosphere is great. Expect shared tables and a time limit for your meal. Yes there is a little note that you need to be done by a certain time. So efficient. :)

We came across this restaurant accidentally while walking through the altstad (old city). We were quite early for lunch, only to fond out that the door will be open at 11.30, so we waited for about 15 minutes. When the door was opened, we were the first guess there, but 15-20 minutes later this place was full house. We were... More

Two nights in Zurich two nights here. Great simple filling food in what is a really lively place. Don't go for a quiet romantic meal here! Good food, good beer and a good time.

Nothing special here - just good, real honest food, with plenty of it!! Service was fun, they will seat you on shared tables if only a few of you. The food is very tasty and fresh.

This is one resto especially for tourist to try a typical Swiss meal. Located at the city center, this resto have good food yet affordable. For beer lovers, I would recommend to try their flaming beer. It's quite special. Then go for the house specialty like the " Schwein Haxe" and the sausage that is half meter long. If you... More

Something of a tourist attraction but also popular with locals, this restaurant is centrally located close to the many attraction that Zurich has to offer. I dined with friends and we all decided to go for sausages, rosti and sauerkraut with onion gravy - we chose different flavour sausages but all agreed that it was a good meal, albeit a... More

this is a well located typical restaurant. May be a little kitsch or overdone, still a good bet to get some swiss food in a warm and a little noisy athmosphere. Prices are OK for Switzerland, service is kind and competent, really multilingual. Food is quite heavy and meat oriented, there are kids menues. I would recommend it to all... More
