Quite authentic Swiss/German cuisine

Great place to eat. Fairly extensive menu. More for meat lovers, but there is also a range of fish, pasta, veggie, etc. It's near Paradeplatz, hidden behind the Hermes store on Bahnhofstrasse. Behind the restaurant is the old town (Altstadt) of Zurich on this side of the river Limmat. I recommend... read more

The service was great, the food was wonderful and the atmosphere was phenomenal. I would take any friends here to show them a little piece of Switzerland. I had on of the many choices of sausages with onion sauce with roosti potatoes and it was great! The restaurant was in a very good location too!

There really isn't anything not to like at this place: the interior is charmingly historical, the food is traditional, good and plentiful and the service is efficient and helpful. My boyfriend and I were lucky enough to come across this place by accident and we greatly enjoyed our lunch at this atmospheric place. Would be back.

If you do not make reservations expect to wait in line. This is a fun place. The ambiance is good for a crowd. The service is efficient and cordial. The large hall with antique arsenal provides an intrigue. Expect to sit with other people. The food is typical German and good. Do not go here if you do not like... More

The origin of the Zeughauskeller was as an armoury; it remains an impressive building and is now an excellent restaurant serving local and some international dishes. We have now visited 3 times while on holiday and have yet to be disappointed. The service has been good, especially given it is so busy, the food does exactly what it says on... More

One of a kind restaurant. Very loud, friendly, happy atmosphere. Food is always good quality, fresh and plentiful. Service is fast and efficient. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Zurich.

The waiter told me they served about 2000 meals a day, so it's definetly a popular place. We had Cordon Bleu and Schweinshaxe, of which I recommend the latter. The Cordon Bleu was pretty dry. Both meals were served with the biggest Rösti potatoes I've ever seen, they looked like an omelet and tasted great! The house draft beer was... More

Great meal, nice atmosphere, the fact remains that restaurant is always crowded thats why service is a little bit late but it s worth for trying!

This restaurant I do recommend to all the visitors of Zurich. It is a very, very old restaurant with a interesting story do it. All my visitors loved it. You get very typical swiss food which is very, very delicious.

Well if your up for the tourist trap if Zurich then this is the place to go. The food is boring, typical basic menu with the mixture of local fast and bland food. The place seems to be packed because people just want to try the local cuisine of Swiss cheese macaroni and bratwurst and some schnitzel. The service is... More
