Good menu and great atmosphere

Have eaten here on several layovers in Zurich on trips to Africa and India. The menu is quite large, and frankly something for everyone (ok maybe not for vegetarians). Generally food arrives quickly, is of good quality (it comes out so quick!!!) and is definitely filling. A great place to chat... read more

Zeughauskeller is an atmospheric restaurant located in the Zurich's city centre, right next to Bahnhofstrasse, that used to a weaponry more than a century ago, and so the decoration is relevant. It is a very good choice for people who wish to taste the Swiss cuisine. Despite its intimidating name, feel free to order the "Kalbsgeschnetzeltes nach Zurcher Art", which... More

I visit Zurich often, and I make sure I visit the Zeughauskeller as often as I can. Sure it's at the high end of the market but it's worth every single nibble and bite. The food is mouthwateringly delicious, it's well prepared and presented. The winelist is enviable and totally affordable. I'm delirious with love for this place. The ambience... More

I went with a group and as a non-meat eater, options were limited. I had trout that was overcooked and dull. Others reported satisfactory, but not great, meals. It has a pub feel--lively and lots of different types of beer. It is large and loud, but service is quick and efficient.

One of my favorite restaurants in Zürich. I realize it's a tourist trap, but I love the sausages that they sell there , and the variety of them. The potato salad is wonderful, we tried to re-create it and it was a total flop. If I had just one night in Zürich this would have to be the place I... More

Visited on Easter weekend with husband and 2 teens. Being that Good Friday and Holy Saturday are National Holidays in Switzerland, many restaurants were closed. However , this restaurant was full to capacity and had a wonderful atmosphere. The staff were kind and attentive. We had very good food and wine/beer. The highlight was the Mayor's Sword. It is steak... More

We found ourselves wandering the small streets and found ourselves hungry and in front of Zeughauskeller. We were able to sit down immediately as it was 2 and after the lunch hours. Ambiance is of an old Swiss German Dining Hall with interesting art and historical pieces on the walls. Food was delicious!

Though there were some veggie options on the menu, the restaurant really seemed to focus on sausages and similar items. It was cool that they had a whole page of asparagus options, reflective of the season, but the gnocchi / asparagus that I had was far from impressive--especially the sauce.

Authentic German style food, lots of beers and a fabulous atmosphere. The staff was very welcoming. We actually ate here twice. Customer service was excellent! Our server Marco even took us to the right train so to get us to our train back home on time! I look forward to going back!!!
