We visited the restaurant without reservation and got one of the last space in the table grill area. As there have been no table grill used this was fine. We decided to go for the gourmet menu with 10 dishes. The food and the dishes were great and the presentation of the dishes was exceptional creative. Especially the Sashimi and... More

We have visited Sala of Tokyo in Zurich since more than 30 years and it certainly has never lost its authenticity, elegant style and attraction of its menu. The fish is as fresh as can be, the extensive sake list interesting and the service friendly and efficient. The whole Sala team contributes to the success of the place. It feels... More

We came here for a business lunch. The service was extremely attentive and the food excellent all through the board. The best was the tempura-style marinated black cod. However, also the sashimi, the sea bass and the dessert was very good. They have four different lunch options and "à la carte". We were very happy with the wine suggestion, a... More

This is a good Japanese restaurant. Top scale sushi and sashimi. Tempura was good, but not at the level of best Tempura one gets in Tokyo (limited variety, etc.). Teriyaki was just ok. Price of a Teriyaki or Tempura portion (with side rice and salad), 70 SFR and over. Way too high. Service was terribly slow. We ordered at 8:00,... More

I had dinner at Sala of Tokyo twice. The food was delicious, and there was a lot of variation between the meals served on both visits. I cannot praise the Wagyu-Beef Entrecôte highly enough, outstanding. While this restaurant is not a cheap option, it is really the right place if you want to try something new and are with sufficient... More

Food was really delicious - the Teriyaki Beef menu was excellent and the Tempura and sushi also excellent. Staff were attentive but not very friendly... Overall I can recommend it, although it is definitely on the expensive side!!

We dinned here two times and both times the quality of food was good. What I liked is that all menus come with a starter and a miso soup. What I did not like is that if you are in a group and you order different menus the courses come completely random. For example, some of us ordered shabu-shabu and... More

There's no need to look further in Zurich for a stellar Japanese restaurant. Sala of Toyko (near Zurich's main train station) beats any Japanese dining experience I've ever had in places like New York, London, Amsterdam, Düsseldorf, etc. It's pricey, but worth it. And it saves the cost of flying to Tokyo :-).
