With its aura of La Belle Epoque, the Lipp is a cult site for French brasserie style cuisine. You can find it in the heart of Zurich. The restaurant can accommodate 200 people indoors and 100 people outdoors. Here diners can sample fresh cuisine and enjoy the Parisian ambiance. The standard menu offers a large selection of French dishes. You can also order the dishes as takeaways - including the opened and ice-cooled oysters. French culture resonates on the wine list too. The Jules Verne Panorama Bar adjoining the brasserie Lipp is a particular highlight. Overlooking the rooftops of the city, it is the perfect place to come for lunch, an aperitif or a glass of wine from anywhere in the world.

Very Good Food, Average Service

It's been years since my last visit to Brasserie Lipp as I found their glasses always used to smell of seafood which was off putting when drinking water or wine. I thought after all this time it was worth trying again as the food has always been very good. The first bit of good news is their... read more

Overall this restaurant was good. Most of those in our party enjoyed the food; although there weren't many foods that were over the top unique. We found the prices to be 2-3 times higher depending on the dish. The prices paired with the very slow waitstaff made the restaurant less enjoyable. The food was good- but a short drive to... More

Very pleasant atmosphere, excellent service , very nice dining room . Switzerland at its best . And the dishes tasted : a very good tuna tartare , similarly a very good beef tartare , a real good French dressing salad. No hesitation to recommend this good comfortable restaurant , where one can enjoy calm , no loud music, well behaved... More

Had a wonderful lunch there with my daughter. The service was excellent and the food very good. The oysters were particularly delicious, if somewhat expensive. Good atmosphere and a great lunchtime venue

Good service and nice atmosphere. We had the entrecôte and moules - both very good! Make sure to make a reservation. Try out the chocolate sorbet!

I'm not a fan of the Zurich food scene (very expensive and mediocre food if I will try to generalize). But since I have to visit there a few times a year for work I'm trying to find the sane places. One of these is Brasserie Lipp. Very nice French classics with sane prices (well not everything) with efficient service.... More

We returned here to Brasserie Lips for our 1st Wedding anniversary - having first visited here on our first date in Zurich!! We had a drink in the panoramic bar which is always busy and buzzing!! Dinner was simple and delicious - I had the spicy steak tartare and my husband had the mixed started - both excellent - I... More

The place in itself deserves at least one visit. It's by far the best of the Brasseries Lipp around the world due to the atmosphere and elegance. This feeling was enhanced in great part due to the excellent Mr.Nizar, one of the best waiters that we've seen even after having had lunch and dinners in the six continents. Marcos and... More

Service was perfect, excellent food. My friend had fresh oysters and scrumptious shrimp, I had a delightful Tafelspitz (boiled beef Vienna style) with marrow and boiled vegetables. A salad and some smoked salmon to start. The restaurant offers seafood in all variations, moules, plates full of fresh and delightful oysters, crab, shrimp. Excellent.

My husband and I are regulars at the Brasserie Lipp and at the Jules Verne panorama bar (in the tower of the city's observatory), not least because of their terrific location, smack in the center of Zurich. Although the Brasserie Lipp used have better service and the food is quite expensive for what you get - except for their business... More
