Description: With its aura of La Belle Epoque, the Lipp is a cult site for French brasserie style cuisine. You can find it in the heart of Zurich. The restaurant can accommodate 200 people indoors and 40 people outdoors. Here diners can sample fresh cuisine and enjoy the Parisian ambiance. The standard menu offers a large selection of French dishes such as oven-roasted lamb steak with porto jus, tagliatelle and ratatouille. You can also order the dishes as takeaways – including the opened and ice-cooled oysters. French culture resonates on the wine list too. The Panorama Bar adjoining the restaurant is a particular highlight. Overlooking the rooftops of the city, it is the perfect place to come for lunch, an aperitif or a glass of wine from anywhere in the world.

We walked straight in from the street just looking for a meal, and boy were we in for a nice surprise. The ambient atmosphere coupled with an almost vintage style, very spacious, good seating and just a very lovely atmosphere. And the waiters? They are rare in the sense, that they know what they are doing. They are not constantly... More

Brasserie Lipp is a Zurich classic and never disappoints. It is a proper brasserie so there is no huge innovation in the menu, although the quality of the food served is always consistently good. We had oysters and white wine as a mid afternoon decadent snack... Just amazing

if you're looking for a typical trendy "French" brasserie, with great fish plates and lovely wines at (for Switzerland) decent prices, this is the place to be ! Different tartare starters on the menu card and the risotto is outstanding. Great servce, centrally located in the old part of Zurich, only 400m walking from the big Zurich HB train station.

If you crave seafood and/or real French cuisinie, Brasserie Lipp is THE place to go to in Zurich. The service is friendly and very quick, there is a really large choice on the menu (which includes things such as Sauerkraut / choucroute and "la chasse" in the fall), and the wine list is excellent as well.

We were in Zurich for three nights and our dinner at Brasserie Lipp was the best we had. The food was very good, as was the atmosphere and the service. Unlike the other places we ate we were not rushed. Our waiter took his time and was very attentive. We very much enjoyed our dinner at Brasserie Lipp. We would... More

I do not mind paying relatively high prices for excellent restaurant experiences, but this one was not at the level one would expect for the kind of prices practiced here. We were a party of six, each one ordering a main and a dessert. I had the tartare (asked for spicy), which was nice and flavourful enough, but rather on... More

I went with a friend of mine, they brought us a terrible champagne ( my friend asked to change it), the food is really expensive for what it is and the wine too... It's a real shame, because the atmosphere is nice.

This is my second visit and I come here for the oysters and mussels. It's not entirely the cheapest dining option in Zurich but I like it for its predictability and fresh seafood. My colleagues loved the veal and artichokes too.

The best french kitchen in Zurich. I was very satisfied. Nice place, kind people, perfect food. Nice panoramatic view from Jules Verne.

We lived in Zurich for 4 years and visited here quite regularly. Although expensive as most places are in Switzerland - it is a devine French brasserie. Frequent meals were musslels with frites and Chateaubriand steak with béarnaise sauce etc.(although could set you back 80 pounds just for the steak). Delicious seafood platters and also an amazing patisserie. Children are... More
