Excellent!

My boyfriend and I stumbled upon this restaurant and decided to try it. We had observed that it was always full and now we know why! The food is so fresh and delicious and the price is very reasonable for the big portions. (We ordered the tavolata, where we were surprised with the dishes we... read more

A friend recommended the restaurant as a place with atmosphere and food with excellent ingredients. We had the artichoke to start with and then penne with tomato sauce and prosciutto, the Gordon bleu and the stuffed ravioli. It was all extremely tasty and well prepared but the tart tatin in the end was the best part of the night! We... More

I love this restaurant so much. I usually come here when I have visitors over and want to take them out for some excellent food and good wine, or a night out with my husband, great for couples. In Kreis 6, lovely resto, outdoor seating in the summer. I always get the Tavolata, which is basically tons of dishses served... More

The atmosphere in this place was really nice. It could either be a great dinner with friends or a romantic dinner with a loved one. The menu was only in German; however, the wait staff spoke English, so it wouldn't be a problem. The food was great, and I'm told they have a great wine selection (though I'm not a... More

While this is a bit far from downtown Zurich, it is only about 15 minutes on the number 9 tram from the Bellevue station, or a short cab ride. The outside is almost invisible but the inside is comfortable and the food is well prepared and good value. We had the 'tavololata' service that gives you a sampling of many... More

the food is very good and there are many different choices. From the menu it is clearly visible that the chef knows what he is doing. Booking in advance is a good suggestion as also in the middle of week it is very crowded. And maybe because of this, the staff is very friendly but overwhelmed in such a way... More

I was taken here by a local and was initially a little confused about the concept. We both thought our first round of dishes was it and we were wondering what all the fuss was about. But there were three more rounds of dishes to come. The food ranged from very good to outstanding and we certainly didn't go hungry.... More

One of my foodie friend speaks highly of Alten Loewen, so you can not blame me that I was just slightly disappointed when I saw the outside of the restaurant. "well another beer garden" was probably the first comment that comes to my mind. But how wrong was I! The wine selection, plus the tavolata concept that they introduce, is... More

An extremely busy place. Couldnt get in first night so booked for the next. Really hot space though with so many people. The food was nice, however, no english menus and the staff were not overly helpful to describe dishes so we did do a bit of guess work. It was expensive, cheaper else where. Again atmosphere and food was... More

We loved the food at Löwen (although its quite pricy) - the other day my two friends shared a tavolata, and in addition to my soup i picked a few items to try from their plate: at the end, the waiter charged us 20.- extra to the bill because i had some food of my friends tavolata (to be clear:...
