Don't visit Schober if you're Starbucks regular or you are on a tight budget and in a hurry. It's like stepping back in time when you enter. Decor and ambience are all part of the experience. We enjoyed a leisurely coffee and cake there several times during our week in Zurich, my husband favouring the apple strudel with vanilla custard... More

We had just arrived in Zurich and decided to take a walk through the old part of the city. We were looking for a place to have lunch and we saw this what looked like a little bakery/café. There were some seats outside so we sat down and looked at the menu. The menu was totally in German. Usually menus... More

A beautiful cafe in the Old Town district of Zurich. A very quiet and peaceful courtyard setting for a tasty light lunch. The pastries and chocolates on display looked absolutely wonderful. Definitely must return.

We were wandering around Zurich on a Sunday morning looking for a cafe for breakfast when we stumbled on this cafe. From the outside it looked like a tiny bakery but, like the tardis, it is far bigger on the inside. We had a great breakfast (coffee and pastries) in a lovely atmosphere. I would recommend this cafe to friends... More

My husband and I had dinner in a restaurant and were looking for dessert. We asked the after in a bar where we could go to find dessert and coffee and he suggested that this was the best dessert in Zurich. A little hard to find at night as the main shop was in darkness. Once we found our way... More

When everything else in old town Zurich is full, Cafe Schober always comes to the rescue. Its low ceilings and cozy couches fulfill all fantasies of a 300 year old coffee house, and their simple menu with flammenkuchen, quiche, and salads to go with your coffee, hot chocolate, beer or wine are perfect for a main meal or at weird... The only reason I am giving a rating 4 is because of the nice and cosy atmosphere. Otherwise the cakes were not good. Eclair was quite bad.

We arrived around 6pm since our teenager wanted a "Good" hot chocolate on her trip to Zurich. It was all decorated perfectly for Easter and there were so many choices for chocolates and pastries. I am a coffee drinker, but had the hot chocolate which was amazing served with whipped cream. The atmosphere is cozy, whimsical and elegant!!!!

You have to enjoy Péclard for yourselves – you won’t regret it. During the warmer seasons opt for a table on the flowery terrace and have excellent teas and sweets. I come here everytime I am in Zurich and have never been let down, it’s always a wonderful place to unwind and feel detached from the busy city life …
